My 56 150...it was originally light blue/white, but just recently had body & paint work done, now it's black/white.

 

Really sweet!
I see you deleted the tire well and bought the mat that covers it. The '55 & '56 150 along with '55 Nomads were the only tri five passenger cars without trim on the quarters. It's a great look!
Sedan deliveries not included.

 

Enjoyed watching this one as a kid.

looks to be a 210 HT based on the short rear spears...

 

I remember watching the 150 run back in the 90’s. No front bumper, sbc, Muncie 4spd, 57 Pontiac rear end, 4.88’s. Ran low 12’s I believe. Wasn’t bad for a street car made with spare parts!

Thanks for reposting my pic of "Holy Hell". I took that shot
thirteen years ago. It was sitting in a field a mile from my
home.

 

I was able to see Holy Hell down at Bill's Speed shop some years back in Rockdale Il, it looked pretty bad at the time worse than the pict you posted. Not sure if it is even still around.

Gasser jail.

 

Made some progress rubbing out the original paint on my '55. Still have to pull the bumpers to get to the paint behind them. Next week the buffing starts.
Also spent some time on the bumpers and grill, original chrome still has some life...if you're standing 10 feet away.

 

I'm hoping for a minimum amount of exterior modifications. It's too kool like
it is to go nuts on it. Chrome reversed wheels (not smoothies) with baby moons or Chevy dog dish hub caps, raise it a couple of inches equally around the car and eliminate the rocket and the emblem on the hood. Just my thoughts.

What a transformation! That car is such a great starting point. It's like you time warped and bought a ten year old runner.

 

Currently on Bring a Trailer, not mine, I wouldn’t sell it if it was.

 

Raise it?
Going to lower it as much as I can.

The body will have to stay as is for a while, eventually nose/deck and remove the emblems. Maybe put a wagon rear bumper on, I like the look of the license plate off the trunk.

Haven't made up my mind yet on wheel/tires. I really like the look of this '57 and will more than likely go with the same.

Pulled the six out of my new purchase, in the process of installing this blown stroker small block. I plan on getting it running and address the brakes later as a separate issue. Installed a underdash Vintage air unit and a 500 power steering gear

 

I did that on my 57 about 1970 while in high school.


Guess I thought people might not know what year the car was.

 

Here’s a blast from my past! 348 with a 5spd. At one point I had a stoker sbc with a little B&M blower with a muncie in it. It was a fun car.

 

Now that looks like a lot of fun for sure!!!

That car went on a lot if “adventures” some i’m not legally able to speak of until the statute of limitations runs out. It was a true beater but i never worried about a scratch or ding.
