I saw this model of the Lincoln Futura a few years ago in a private collection. The detail was fantastic, it was about 20” in length.

  11. Most people are aware that the 55 Ford prototype Futura was sold to George Barris for the sum of ONE DOLLAR and he turned it into the Batmobile for the Television series. HRP

It was, a 55 Lincoln concept car that cost $250,000 to build, Barris got a hell of a deal for $1...I want to say , its a shame that it got turned into the Batmobile but I think the Batmobile is pretty cool and probably more well known and popular than its original form.

I saw a Super Bird Convertible wing car at a MOPAR only car show. Yea it had the wing and the nose and a that it was 426. I didn't think much of it at the time, thinking that it was someones project car. But it turn out to be a real car manufacture at the factory supervised by the mechanical engineer assigned to the Super Bird program. I also had a buddy order the Superbird wing for his 69 Roadrunner. Sorry for the OT.

  17. The Futura was in very bad shape by the time Barris got it.

That is true , but I would of still paid a $1 for it.
I just wonder what kind of price it would bring in todays market if it would of been properly stored away , in the condition it was last, and brought out today for auction...
And then a price if it had been properly restored then offered in todays market.
Then compare them prices too what the original Batmobile is worth...I know there's alot of variables but it would be interesting.

Here's a video of the Chrysler Norsemen on the ship I was riding on on my way back from Italy. The car now rests on the bottom of the ocean on its nose in the cargo hold. My friend David Bright made many dives on the ship and he told me what he had seen.

    Hello,

There were several that I saw on a different website. Two swoopy cars that looked rather cool, made by Ford. Some of the lines went into the production models, but these were designs only with no running chassis or motor. The two door went for $3000 and the 4 door, $11k. But the closest one to a production model was built for the SEMA show and it was a Chevy sedan. One look and it might have been on your local car dealer’s lot, but it was obviously not a production model. It even had a motor, but, alas, not registerable. ($4200)

The sad thing is it will be hard to get them to safety standards and even if they were cannibalized, the registration would be hard to complete. From the factory, they were not allowed to register them, so everyone is stuck. They might be a very cool bed for a great kid with the twin mattress placed inside with the windows rolled down.

Decorative lighting would make an instant car nut out of a little kid. But, how will you get the car inside? Most cars were made with a car show in mind. They were roll in show cars only. But, it probably could be unbolted and separated for entry into a child’s bedroom. The great thing is, there is no gas/oil smell in the bedroom if the projects are taken apart and installed.

Could of been this one...a transportation driver was returning this one to its owner after it had been at a event in Albany.
The driver stopped by a family event in North Plains and had some fun with it.
Its a replica of the original, the owner takes it too different charitable events.
This trip was to Albany for a winter Rod&Speed show .
On the return trip the transport stopped in North Plains ,Glenco , at a family gathering and had some fun with it ,before returning it to its owner. 16045442631051169759150249534350.jpeg

What color would you like ???
The car doesn't, didn't ever exist.
These shots are a rendering of a cross between a 59 Cadillac and a Corvette , that was a given.
    Interesting concept though. 16105173454885779409846080674776.jpeg 1610517373655280001146691109502.jpeg images.jpeg 16105174217321768433205794882009.jpeg
