Been looking for ideas for a Model A dash and thought it might be worthwhile starting a pic thread so its all in one place. Go! :)

  3. This is the Aristocrat dash in my A. Aristocrat dash.jpeg

I am using the original tank. To accommodate the modern gauges I cut the dash out of an extra tank and hung it from the valance. The gas sight has a jewelers lupe glued to the back to magnify the original gas sight behind it. Also put a tiny 12 volt light back there to make it easier to see when lights are turned on.
The other gauges are Model A speedo, SW mechanical oil pressure and water temp. Bottom row are SW ammeter and a clock.
I fabbed a lower dash rail. It has switches to the left of column and radio on the far right, below the tank. I was able to tie the sides of lower dash into inside of cowl. I hope this helps.

I don't like to get them too far from stock.

I hope I'm not messing up the intent of this thread, but if anyone has photos of 30/31 dashes that are still running the stock, functioning gas tank, I'd love to see them. Maybe just make note that the tank is still functioning as the gas tank.

If this request is contrary to the intent or interest of the thread, just let me know and I'll delete.

    Thanks.

I like simple an clean. Other then oil, temp, speed, also a tach. My old dash header was pretty rusted n had a horn hole drilled in left side,so I carved a new one out of some clear grain an matched it to rest of wood, steering wheel an rear cockpit lip.

Have a Brookville 32 dash for a model A in mine. Had to modify the lower part to follow the contour of the aluminum gauge panel I used.

hotrodmyk....The yellow car/dash you posted, do you know much about the car other than having the photo? I wondered if the gauges are thin enough to fit in the area behind the small panel. There's just not a lot of room between the tank and the panel on a stock A.

The Guages in my 29 are from SPEEDHUT and are short enough to fit in the stock tank with no cutting

Some very nice dash panels right here. There are also a couple of glaring tacky what not to do your dash also.
