Wondered what went with that tall '46... More info, please.

Mine was a '46 Club Coupe in 1962, 331" Chrysler hemi out of Joe Reath's rail.
Charlie's was a reminder... Great find!

Love the yellow, with the wide white walls

  6. Love it .. but those mirrors need to go. Appear to be those flexible head, Volkswagen-ish mirrors.

Have any older pictures of it ? May help figure out what was on it.

  7. I remember your grandfather's coupe at some of the car shows when I lived in North Beach, San Francisco in 1955-1958. I was impressed with the workmanship then, and I still am today.

Oh they’re being removed. The original mirrors are in trunk. We literally just got it back last week. So excited

We can’t wait to enter it in shows. It’s been hidden away far too long

You did lol. My son (Charlie’s great grandson) posted it. He’s heard about the coupe his entire life and just last week, he picked it up.

Could you post the whole story on how you found it? I'm glad it's going back home.

Well.. my cousin who was registered owner for 20 years became aware that the coupe should’ve been left to my dad in 1985, but wasn’t. She called me and transferred ownership to me. Car was in storage for MANY years with thick layer of dust on it. I worked with police and they picked it up for me. It’s home now

Now we know where the idea of exhaust through the fenders comes from for all those newfangled "Street Outlaws."

That is one legendary gem! Great to hear she's finally home! My buddy's uncle might have seen that Coupe back in the days as tell some stories of great cars from car shows in the 50's-60's, and he still have some photos. I'll be coming over this weekend to help my buddy install the brake kit and mud tires on his Wrangler project. I'll ask his uncle if he'll recognize that coupe.

I grew up in Daly City around the corner from the Tabucchi family and was a good friend of Mark and Charlie, the sons of Charles. I remember Charles building the car in the garage of his home as a gift for his son Charlie. It was a vision then and I am happy to see from the photo that it looks the same. And I remember that it was LOUD. Nice memories.

Its states its on a Mercury frame, Well, a Merc frame is longer.. is there an explanation?

I recall front tires fitting ahead in fender well..
probably because of longer wheel base.

ITS LIKE SEEING AN OLD FRIEND... glad it survives !!!
