Flipper caps are simple and essential on post war kustoms . They are simple and effective as a kustom accessory. I don’t like highly ornamental caps as they become a weird distraction from the ride itself . They cover a great deal of the wheel and chromed they absolutely stun on the right ride . Here are mine on my 41 ford

Got chrome wheels on both cars, but I do have a few wheel covers. Wires off my 63 Galaxie, which turn out to be Mustang covers. 55/56 Chevy, 66 Impala SS, 63 Impala SS, 58 Chevy dogdish, 58 Impala, and 55 or 56 Buick.

 

are you implying the windshields are different ??

 

Not implying, stating as fact: the '56 Vicoria windshield is about 2" lower than the '55. It's the same windshield used on the Crown Vic of either year.

'40 DeSoto: your avatar is intriguing, and I don't think I've ever seen that body style, either stock or chopped. Are there other photos of it elsewhere on the HAMB?

I agree with you. The first factory spinners to achieve real popularity with hot rod/custom car guys, and they are still among the very best. I need one nice one for my wall collection!

 

Thanks, Sancho. I think the view in his avatar is actually the best looking! I mistook the steering wheel in that picture for a window frame.
