When I told my wife I was restoring a 1957 Dodge, she exploded.
She cooled down when she discovered the project was only the
    dashboard.

I still live here. 57 dodge dash poster.jpg

  7. Playing around with a 49 Packard wondering if it could be massaged hammered into a decent looking custom. It would take a lot of work but it would certainly be unique and the end result might make it worthwhile. Here's a shot of the before and my rendering of the after

    Hello,

In the early days of drag racing, it was not uncommon for something other than a rail dragster taking Top Eliminator in any drag racing event. Some times it was luck that it was a roadster, other moments, the times were pretty even among the competitors, so the run to the Top Eliminator was not just for the rail jobs.

The competition at the So Cal dragstrips was not an easy push over. It was a surprise to travel across the whole LA basin to meet someone from your home court or dragstrip. But, competitors are what they are on a weekly basis. Let the time, along with the powerful sounds of a modified roadster fill the air and shoot for that Top Eliminator spot.

The Scoville Brothers, from Sherman Oaks, CA. started with an injected hemi motor. This car would later get a blower and Hilborns, and even later, that engine would go in Ivo's single Buick car to garner A/Gas dragster record of 159.

Over the those early years at the different So Cal dragstrips, their times improved and again set the A/R class record at 132.15 mph with the addition of a 671 supercharger and a two port Hilborn Injection System.

Enclose the injectors and the roadster is ready for some high speed Bonneville speed runs with some gear/tire changes.

  18. "In a Galaxian far, far away"... you better make sure you have a full tank of fuel before venturing too far away from the moon base!
A little Sci-fi / hot rod photoshop for you guys this week. Apparently this guy was having so much fun driving his Galaxian in low gravity, that he failed to recognize his fuel consumption. The back ground used here is a wall paper I downloaded from Wallpaperflare.com and was created by Rose Lord. The pic of the Galaxian was taken by MikeGarrett of Speedhunters.

    Happy Friday folks!
