Sadly, former Junior Stock tough competitor, successful businessman, and all-around Good Guy, Sonny Bryant, has passed away. Obituary located at: <https://deaddeath.com/sonny-bryant-death-obituary-cause-of-death/> In spite of the title of that posting, there is no cause of death identified. There are rumors that he may have contracted the virus but that has not been confirmed as yet.

My favorite subject so I post as many as I can find but it's getting tough to find one that hasn't been posted before.

This car is one of my favorite images of early Junior Stock racing. I never saw it in person but it illustrates some of the best thinking of that era.

I wonder if this is the same car that ran at Skyline Dragstrip New Castle, PA.

I was only at Skyline a couple times, but was at nearby Sunset many times and don't remember it.

That's a neat wagon but the US Male I was looking for was a '62.

What if it was just an "ornament" and wasn't functional? Mild customizing allowed?

I just want to say how I thoroughly enjoy this thread, and appreciate you guys keeping it going. Great pics, and first person information. History revealed, thank all you contributors!

  27. 56 rag top dragger.jpg Does anyone recognize this '56 Ford Sunliner , which back in the day- may have ran as a Jr. Stocker ? It may not have had the same blue paint job, but note the rear wheelwells- could it have run in a Gasser class instead ? Any info or pix would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

One thing about the cars of this era, the size of them gives lots of room for sponsors' ads.

Not a Gasser because it is a convertible. Gassers were "coupes & sedans". But there are a lot of other possibilities.

Actually sir- you are Wrong ! Gasser convertibles were allowed, says so right in the rule book, and here are several examples
