There is nothing like having "junk in the yard" to make a favorable impression on the general public of our hobby and not to speak of property values. Look what happen to the group of people who keep old washing machines and ice boxes on their front porch. This type of stuff is what brings over the people from the local Zoning Board over to your driveway when you roll out your project car into the daylight. This is all that I am going to say on this.

  9. It is a form of art. You don't get it. I understand that. I don't get Picasso or Matisse or a lot of other "artists" with strange tastes. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, right?

This must be a regional thing, this type of artwork. Why not just keep it in your garage, the more it stays out in the weather the less there will be in the next 5 to 10 years. Another point to keep in mind, is safety of children, some kid gets hurt on it and you will be in a world of financial hurt. You will be putting a fence around it like people do with their swimming pools. It is not art, just rusty junk that has no use or purpose anymore. Take of good and toss the rest, at least not in your front yard.

Cars? truck? I don't need no cars N trucks in my yard. I'll take the cannon from the 1957 Technicolor epic film "Pride and the Passion".
Last seen in Florida, many years ago. Anyone have a modern day photo and know its location?

Gosh, Uncle Andy! The Federal Building in Washington D.C. had one just like this on the front lawn, with bullet holes galore!

  25. Don't go away yet. Junk in the yard is why people in subdivisions have HOA's..To keep the hoarders and junk peddlers in check..I don't have a problem there.
On the other hand , car people out in the country or on state routes generally take pride in their displays ,as seen in most of the posts here. Whole different deal..Apples and oranges...And yes, cars are an art form. You've heard of the art /deco style in the 30's ?

I wanted to buy this as yard art however the seller thinks that it's a builder. It's way too far gone, LOTS of rust with other damage and missing parts that are unobtainium here in Australia. It's a very rare OEM RHD import, nothing interchanges with local GMH product! 20170813_105135.jpg

Once in your lifetime, you must make a Pilgrimage to Bodie, California. A truly epic ghost town in Northern California. As your approaching you will think "I'll be out of here in 15 minutes". I guarantee you will spend hours walking around in total amazement. The highlight for me was that 1937 Chevy. Bodie, California. Put it on your vacation schedule once it is safe to travel.
