At the first show that my son took his '54 Stude wagon to we laughed at all the cry baby dolls around and thought about stealing one and throwing it under hie car. We were so glad we didn't when we heard that one of the local car guy's son had just been killed a day or two before when his car fell on him. The guy was there giving a commemorative award to a young owner with a cool car. He gave it that first year to my son and for several years he and my son chose the new winner. That would have turned out differently had there been a stolen cry baby under the Stude.
But later when we were moving a shed we didn't spare my friends wife. I moved that shed 3 times. 100_2372.jpg

When my now gone friend built a neat T roadster that he drove the crap out of the one thing he repeated over and over was "Big Meats". Not my style but he built it, drove it, and loved it while mine is still a pile of parts. :)

That yellow T reminds me of a 27-T ,yes the cowl was bobbed off, that I had in the early 80's.
Car was built in 74, the guy that originally built it ..actually it was him and a high school buddy..they both owned it, then his friend bought him out and took the car to California for a couple years , then when his friend and the car returned to Washington state he bought out his friend and took over owner ship..anyways the car had some kool history.
Reason for the short cowl was they started with a steel body ,then found a old dragster frame and shortened it ..then they heard about a guy that had a ford 427 side oiler with dual carbs sitting on a stand in his kitchen..they bought it and then tried to see if it would fit ...crap..they shortened the frame to much...thats why the cowl got cut off ....also while the car was in California the engine was sent over to Holman and Moody's for some freshening up and a few tricks. 20200729_115540(0).jpeg

I believe hooking a chain to the rearend of a police cruiser and....well I'm sure you all know the rest of the story...was a pre-1965 stunt done by hot rod hoodlums too show there appreciation for the Police Patrol...
But ...I'm just going to say Thank You and wave , full hand not just one finger, as you move along. HaHaHa

One thing I noticed, is there are quite a few cars in this post with American daisy wheels!! I get ribbed about mine all the time..." Oh those wheel belong on a musclecar" But they are the only cool wheel I like..

Oh oh! A tire toucher, that's how it starts. innocent enough, but next thing you know they are touching the tuck and roll, grabbing the steering wheel and fondling the gear shift knob. An another good kid becomes addicted to hot rodding, which there is no cure! My first touch was 59 years ago, it was the tire of my Uncle Bill's 58 Pan Head. Its been down hill spiral of hot rods and harley's ever since! lol Larry

At the risk of being out of context, I'm gonna post in here. I'm going for the home built weekend warrior 60s style. Under the hood may be a slightly different story but everything on the car minus some safety items has been built by myself in the garage behind that tractor.

Edit: 28x10s on wider wheels are coming soon

    Of when

  27. @rustydusty, do you have a build thread? I like the style you're working on and have similar plans. I noticed you raised the turtledeck up like I plan. When I start my build, I'm thinking I may modify the turtledeck to angle is down in the back more after raising it to see if I can get a better profile.
