That would be a good one to get ahold of, it probably wouldn't be to hard to bring it back to the way it should be.

Like HRP, Two Lane Blacktop. Always liked the 55 Chevy. Never cared much for the hood scoop though.

Never give a sucker an even break. Very bizzare movie, but W.C Fields destroys a ‘33 sedan.... IMG_9184.JPG

1964 TV show "My Living Doll" with Julie Newmar. I actually saw this being filmed at a local Fosters Freeze hamburger stand very close to home in Manhattan Beach, CA. I was 7 years old in the Summer of 1964. Bob Cummings was kicked and slapped many times for the perfect action shot.

I can't believe no one mentioned the Kookie Kar from 77 sunset Strip TV series... That is what gave me the hotrod bug...I am glad it has been returned to its roots...

The studio must have spent a fair amount of money building a copy of it for the final scene of Robert Culp's vengeance; Nomads weren't cheap in SoCal even in '73:

Might have been more satisfying to watch him leave the Nomad alone and just drag the Chandler kid out of the house and smash his skull into tomato bisque with the bat, but this was TV, not the movies, and this is Robert Culp, not Charles Bronson! :D

I remember there was a lot of "Outrage!" from Nomad club members over a Nomad being destroyed.

Car was owned by Merced, Ca.'s own Tom Hiser. Tom 'found' the chopped '40 in a consignment car lot in San Jose, in bad shape. Salesman quoted an inflated price, went in the office to answer the phone. Tom looked inside the glove box, found the owner's name and address, went to Thanksgiving dinner at his in-laws' house, and called the guy. Bought the '40 for a 'right price', 30% of the consignment price.
Tom had a shop right across from Merced fairgrounds, where he did the work on the '40. It always had the Buick, according to Tom.
Car is still here in Merced, a friend of Tom's now owns it.

This is Dick Scritchfield's '32, when it was yellow. (L.A. Roadster club's logo car)
Same car that Bruce Meyer had restored, the original HRM cover car, #1 in 1948.
Is that a girl driving it? (car in this instance was driven by John Ashley in 'Hot Rod Gang', 1957. Back on page 1 (post #6) is a shot from the same movie, on L.A. street (Lankershim Blvd?) Pic above has trimmed rear fenders...same car in Hot Rod Gang 1958 has no fenders.
Actually not, Mick. The roadster in 'Ghost of Dragstrip Hollow' had a flathead.
Good shot of it when the blonde hits the barrier in the L.A. river race and Lois Cavendish (Jody Fair) goes speeding off, and the motorcycle cop stops to survey-and-arrest...
'Ghost of Dragstrip Hollow' is NOW playing on You Tube...

Actually that is the same car that burnt at the end. I have the same issue of Street Rodder, but I have a issue of Popular Hot Rodding ( I think that is what it's in ) somewhere that Betty Baker made the statement that the car was burned out and the rear of it had damage when they bought from the studio.

he also was in an episodic film, "if i had a million." he drives his brand-new '32 ford phaeton out of the dealership and is t-boned by a "roadhog." fields buys a fleet of clunkers, hires drivers and wreaks vengeance on ignorant drivers...
