A very good friend passed this week. Terry Smith (was Twisted Okie on the board but hadn't been on for a long time).
Among other things he was a Tiki collector and his son ask me if I would paint his urn before the service Monday.
Hope I did you proud bud, miss you.

I just call it "Daddy tax" :D

Been a while since I've posted but here's one I did a couple of months back inspired by my OD transmission install— thankfully things haven't played out as pictured. IMG_0366.JPG

  19. Sketched out my old 37 Pontiac 4 door to see if changing it to a sedan delivery would work. Proportions are off but I just wanted to get an idea. Sold off project before starting the change. 37Pontiacindrive.jpg 37pontiacart.jpg

@Rocky , stretch the roof back, get rid of the hump, then make the back into a door, and it would be pretty cool. Otherwise its just gonna be hard to get stuff into the back area

    Hello,

That 1937 Pontiac art work is a classic drawing. There was this family that owned a Mexican Restaurant in the South Orange County area. For a while it was packed every weekend and did a great business. Several times, I saw the owner driving his old, black, 1937 Chevy sedan in the neighborhood, going out for some cooking supplies. The arm sticking out of the window was a classic pose then and now in this drawing. It is old style, like the owner of the 1937 Chevy and the restaurant.

@Gearhead Graphics is on to something. Having been an owner of a 1940 Ford Sedan Delivery, I took the back section from memory and added onto the great, yellowish, original drawing. Now, it looks something like a real sedan delivery. IMHO... I am sure Rocky can make a better version, but it would take a lot of sheet metal body work to make the real sedan into a sedan delivery.

It is a little low, but it is great artwork by Rocky and not a photo.

  26. Yeah, I blew it on the drawing's top contour. Looking at the photo of the car, it's pretty obvious that hump isn't really there. Oh, well. It's gone now but if I happen onto a cherry old GM, FoMoCo or MoPar 4 door body for cheap I'd love to make up a phantom delivery......... Someday............maybe
