This opened up the seat for a unknown rookie named Andretti. BTW, that's the Fike Plumbing sprint car made famous by Parnelli Jones that Hulse is crashing.

When I was in high school auto shop Ford Motor Co donated a custom Comet just like this one to our shop class. We used to make practice auto repairs on it when we didn’t have “Customer” cars to work on. Does anyone have that magazine? Was this a Ford show car?
