  2. Love that. Lanny’s son sent me that video the other day because it reminded him of his dad’s old roadster that I have “restored back to life.” Now I need to find one of those!

I have a few of BobK’s and have been looking for a set of wheel covers/ white walls for one ever since I got them.

anyone have any idea where he magically had his appear from in the video?

Thanks, Joey! Now, I have to find one to restore. I don't have any of the fancy equipment used in the the resto of the blue roadster, but I should be able to make one presentable. Quite a contrast between the two, but they both are quite nice! Tim, look for Nylint/ tin toy parts, I believe that's where he got the caps and whitewalls. Happy Hobby, Carp.

  5. Been watching those for a while, my only gripe is they are kinda long and drawn out.

Oh wow, I knew I recognized it from somewhere! Too bad we can't hang out at the Drags this year. Let's keep our fingers crossed for 2021.

    Funny you should post this,
I've been watching those videos too.
Yesterday I pulled out my pile and pieced together the blue roadster with white top in the foreground.

No build thread, I've just posted a couple pics in "what did you do today". It's not a hot rod, so it's off topic mostly.

    Cool vids.
I've been restoring toys for 30+ years and restoring chrome parts has always been an issue...until I found Caswell Plating "Copy Chrome". It's a home plating kit that actually electo -plates.

I've been using their products for the past 15 years and it's amazing for plating toy parts...and small car parts too.

I have a ton of my toys posted in the Antiquities forum under "vintage tin"

  18. Mine too! 60 years ago I drew a lot of inspiration from this one. The top is lost. Wish I could find one for it.

  19. I saw this video before. Great restoration, but I was wondering why he checked the paint for lead. Does that make any difference in the restoration process? (I know that lead is toxic, but still...)

Thanks Carp, been doing toys...well, forever:D. Along with collecting coins, guitars and the occasional hot rod, it's just one more thing to piss the wife off:eek:

Why restore it...when you can hot rod it!
Restoration looks great, though...what body filler is compatible with the powder coat heat?
