  11. Yes, but the mother of the boy on all fours couldn't understand his recent fondness for leather and punishment.

Kids: "But mom, on drive in nights dad lets us have beer too"
Mom: "You kids be quiet and just be happy that these are filtered and not those unfiltered ones that he smokes"

One of my earliest memories is when my mom hit a guy backing his Chevy pickup truck into traffic on a major street in Dallas in a Buick just like that. 62 or 63 years later, I still look at the spot where it happened every time I pass it. That Buick cleaned the bed right off of that truck! I vaguely remember the wreck, ending up on the floorboard and a cop talking to me. I am pretty sure mom drove the Buick back home.

I never understood the appeal of woodies. Maybe a few of the station wagon models in the '50s looked OK, but I mostly remember a few of my friend's parents (moms) driving them and the fake wood and supporting trim was falling off within a few years.

  18. Thanks 31DODGER. Wow what an amazing experience/memory. I have viewed a very low mile original mint 59 Chrysler Imperial limousine in Seattle back in the early nineties. One of very few. Of course no bubble top. Car was more impressive than 59 Cadillac Series 75 limousine. Motion (sheepskin) carpet.
I seriously wonder what became of all three limousines for Queen Elizabeth's 1959 North American Tour. Chrysler Imperial bubble top, Lincoln ( not stretched n no bubble top), and 1959 Cadillac limousine bubble top. Of course in some cities other cars were utilized.

  24. Tony, I can understand personal taste, and that Woody is beautiful. About 15 years ago my wife n I caught a car show of only woodies in Long Beach at marina. Over 50 woodies in one place. It was amazing and I thought they were all beautiful, even the fifties cars.
Can't remember if it was that same show or another, but there was a 4x4 suburban, international I think. Was from a wildlife n national park photographer. Pretty interesting.

  30. I think the horn button babe is Dianna Dors but I can't prove it.
I can't get the picture big enough but the horn button looks right
and the Cad is a 1955 like the original pic.
