Wonder how he got away with running that in D/G class with the front axle moved forward? Altered wheelbases cars couldn't run Gas Class.

  18. SIX BALL I lived in Millbrae and enjoyed the Half Moon Bay drags in the early sixties as well. Some really big names ran there as well as your average guy. 15 years ago or so I was visiting Half Moon Bay and was pleasantly surprised by the drag memorabilia in the Half Moon Bay Bakery. A few years back I bought a Half Moon Bay Dragstrip T-shirt at NHRA Museum.

1 more car I promise, Rex Winter

Bonus Burger? We just sold the house we bought in Lubbock when our son was going to Tech. He was just thee last week visiting. What growing up I did was in Canyon. When I was going the Half Moon Bay we had just moved to Concord from Texas.

Looking back at many of these older hot rods, it dawned on me why, I guess, it's hard to find a good deuce grille shell. So many of the early cars used them for nerf bars out in front of the crossmember and some even out past the tires. Not a good look in my opinion.

...Perhaps these images captured by Bob Hardee may illustrate an even bigger contributor to lack of 32 Grille Shells and some other bigger desirables...

As for the Bumperless Grille Nerf Bar Tires too far back Look....it seems anything done in Hotrod will be scrutinized to the Nth degree but that is why so many of the Unloved Oddballs end up here in the Cut off the Ugly Thread away from Cookiedom where only the Chosen Rule...
