Art & Inspiration The Photoshop thread to end all Photoshop Threads!

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Pair O' Dice, Oct 10, 2008.

  1. Can someone please photoshop this with chrome reverse wheels and 1"(?) whitewalls? Some renderings have been done, all with blackwalls but it seems to me it needs some sort of whitewall to pop. My eye may not be as good as some of you, but I thing the color of this car does not lend itself well to a blackwall tire. THX 20200706_140511.jpg

Do you have a bigger pic? Other photos of that car exist on the internet but are watermarked stock images.

  6. I think we're closing in on it. I'm pretty convinced a painted wheel doesn't work on this car for some reason, or maybe it's the absence of a whitewall tire on them. Thank you!

    @Groucho

This is just my personal opinion and mean no disrespect but what I'm seeing is a '60's show car that fights any wheel/tire combination that doesn't stay in the same vein.
Here's a quick example by way of explanation. In the first one I stayed with the the show 60's car theme and just stuck baby moons and white walls on the car. In the second one, I took all the pin striping, the white roof and stuck hood sides on it. Then I stuck American torque Thrusts and black walls. In my opinion the black walls will work provided you lose the show car pin striping, white roof etc.

  8. I wonder how @Groucho's sedan would look with wide whitewalls and full caps, say '56 Oldsmobile?

Name off, 3” chop, no window decals, any tire/wheel combo.

Thank you Madfish! I like it both ways. I think either will work, and look better than whitewalls and redlines.

As for the Green Meanie, I like it with the current wheels, and I like it with the chrome steel and thinner white. I agree that the stripes and open hood sides don't work well with blackwalls and mags. Looks good with mags and hood sides/no stripes, but no way I would change the car just to make the mags work. I think your assessment is right on.

  11. I can't see that at all on a 60s show rod.

  12. One of the reasons i bought it is because it's NOT chopped. Around here they're so common with a chop the unchopped ones stand out to me.

  13. I LOVE what you're doing here. The bottom pic would be much better without those modern day Ds with the primer grey colored spokes. Real mags from the 60s with straight spokes, polished lips and magnesium colored spokes. You really nailed the big moon/fat white look!! THX

  16. Anyone care to stick this 34 ford bumper on the front of my truck, somewhere I had mocked this up in the garage but I can't find the photo of course.
    Thanks in advance

Might not even hurt to scooch it up over the bottom of the grill a bit.

If this were my car, I'd set the wayback machine to 1962 and go for a style like Joe Cruces' Tall T. Lotsa white, and chrome wheels, your choice of whitewall width. First version has white running boards and chrome Ansen Sprints. Second version goes with a '63 Buick Riviera chrome rally wheel. Third runs '54 Skylark wires. Last pic is Joe Cruces' tall T to get the vibe.

  22. Hi! Can you make my 64 comet into these 3 different color schemes, all blue, blue with white roof and white with blue roof? Thank you for any help!

If it were mine I'd go with all Wimbledon White with black steel wheels like the white ones on the number 11 Galaxie in the original post.
