  2. Hey Bob
I hadn't heard the Schlumph bros. name in years!
I do remember that in 1942 someone from GM found
one of the 6 in a junkyard in Long Island and bought it
    for $400.
    No I wasn't around in '42. I waited until '50!
    It was built in 1930.
This is what the car looked like in 1999 but it had first been restored
in 1947, and was repainted and such several times.
I believe it is in the Ford museum, but don't quote me.
What does this have to do with Hot Rods?
It has a 12.7 litre Rail car engine!

I never knew the Shakespeare collection had a Bugatti Royal until I posted that link yesterday. So Harrah had two, Ford collection has one, Cunningham collection had one, and the Shakespeare car make a total of 5 in the USA at some point in time of the six that were made. Bob

I lived in a very similar tenement building when I was about 10 years old and every morning and every evening it was my job to fill the kerosene tanks for the two heaters in the living room and one in the kitchen.
The bedrooms and other rooms had no heat and I would put a lot of clothes on each night to try and stay warm.

The next day in school my buddies would kid me that my hands always smelled like kerosene!
I remember those days like it was yesterday.

That's the look of a man who doesn't need any "constructive criticism" from the bystanders.
Bob, did you check the condenser? It's probably the condenser..... or the points, yeah, must be the points.....

    Wishing everyone a Happy 4th
