I've been going gung ho on this car and I think the heat has finally gotten to me. Not sure if I over caffeinated and didn't eat that much for breakfast but it hit me hard today. So take take care of yourself out there Sent from my moto z4 using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Been there with thet heat stroke.... no fun at all. Just imagine being down here in Texas with 105-110 temps and add on heat index. Before I retired and closed my shop we were working from 7 am to 2 pm when the temps started getting over 95 and heat index at 105. It takes it's toll on old guys!!
Well if you lived in Vancouver (the original one in the US ) this is what the first week of July would look like. Global warming seems to have passed us over. Stay safe and remember to hydrate.
What really scares me is the amount of people I've been seeing wearing long pants and hoodies. I'm a big boy so I don't do too well with heat. Sent from my moto z4 using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
I don’t have AC in the garage but I do have a large directional fan that helps a bunch. Eat something for breakfast and keep hydrated.
When I built my new garage I included heat & air in the budget, it has really paid off, I insulated to the max so the power bill is manageable. HRP
worked on my brothers truck yesterday. Trans went out...my Shoebox car cover and an old window shaker A/C made it tolerable. And LOTS of water.
That’s the one thing I don’t miss from Michigan is hot summers, but then again it’s rained here every weekend for the last four weeks and barely stays warm enough to paint stuff. Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Up here in the perfected version (LOL) area similar weather with a little lower temps which is fine by me. At least the forest fire danger is low right now but the heat will come... This is th eking of start to summer I remember from about twenty years ago.
Yep...I took a break today..my place has no AC...no windows, don’t like to leave doors open to let others see what’s in the building (not a great area) . I also wear coveralls so I don’t get my DD interior filthy..took a rest today...floating in the pool..
Anything that has caffeine or alcohol is a diuretic ( dehydrates you ) . water or sports drinks with electrolytes is best for you !
My doctor said I would live longer if I gave up beer and cigars....I told him no, it would only seem longer
Started back at it around 4:00. It wasn't any cooler but the sun wasn't as intense. Sent from my moto z4 using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Enjoy it. We are well into winter down here and it is bloody cold. Would love a bit of sunshine about now.
My shop is a metal building, and even on 75-80 degree days it can get hot. I've got a fan that helps, but some days I just quit early and go in the house. Have a good old window shaker AC unit, and keep threatening to cut a hole in the wall and install it. Then I could work in almost any higher temps!
I've got AC in the garage but I'm wet sanding parts to paint so working on the driveway, was 100 with a heat index of 108 Tuesday so I work until about noon and then quit. Have a fridge in the and go through cases of Costco water, have to stay hydrated especially since I'm getting old!!
Not to bitch....we had a mild winter so we gits bugs....and a monsoon rain today about 6pm as I was gearing up after the 7 to 3 work day....welcome that rain but we are sticking to our clothes down here with the humidity ! Lucky to have a large carport to hide under but them damn mosquitoes will carry you off....worked until about 7pm tonight....
Mornings aren't bad, but by lunch I have to quit, just gets too hot for me anymore. The Gulf humidity is whats so bad here, air you can wear. I ride in AC all day, only have to get out to untie or tie down my load, so that makes it seem even more hot when I do get out in it. If I get out early on Sat morning I get a little done, after lunch though I ain't worth crap. Spring and fall are my favorite outside work temps, summers too hot, winters too cold. 35 yeast ago I was still working outside year round, riding in AC and heat makes you softer, or it did me...
Here where it is a lot cooler, if it is too cold; you can put on a sweater. When it is too hot; what do you do?
That's what I keep telling my wife every time she brings up moving to north Carolina with her family Sent from my moto z4 using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
