Hey guys! I was recently brought on to a project at one of the local shops to help recreate a paint job on 2 60's front engine dragsters. They are owned by Gordon "Collecting" Collett. I do not know much about the cars. I am trying to recreate an elaborate paint job and have very few pictures that show good angles of the paint and many are in black and white. If anyone has any pictures or leads as to where to find pics it would be greatly appreciated.

I can't help, but I remember seeing him run at Minnesota Dragways in the sixties. Good for you for bringing them back.

    Chris,
I'm the guy that took the color photo you've already posted (CRH). Here's a photo I took of the other car you're asking about (I think). Gordon Collett's dual Hemi AA.Gas dragster. These are the only photos I have of the Collett cars. Neither photo is very detailed but might help you some. I'm sure someone somewhere has better.

The trailer in the second photo is lettered with Collett’s name and also Jeg’s is shown on it. Might be a long shot but maybe Jeg’s will have some good photos from BITD.

Good luck with that. The Petersen archives would be a better bet although as far as I know the have not finished cataloging the color pix at this time.

We are actually doing the silver and blue paint job on the car. I think it is the paint job he was running around 1970, but I could be wrong!

    Hey C,
http://twotogo.homestead.com/index.html is the most comprehensive website for two motor race cars. It is run by Dennis Friend. Click on the link and go to his website or email him directly from the address on the site.
