I have not seen this 57 before. Does anybody know the story on this?

 

GM Technical Center, Warren, Michigan, 1957. Zora Arkus-Duntov being wheeled out for the maiden test run of the Corvette SS racing car (mule). GM had a short test track on the Tech Center grounds that saw extensive use.

The rear 1/4 looks pretty busted up also, that's what I call being hard on a car. Funny, I wonder if that is all patched up now and restored to NCRS and the owner doesn't know of it's past life.
