This is the latest photo of the "Okie Twister" in the photo higher up on this page. Photos of the crash of the car are posted elsewhere on the HAMB and on the internet. It met its end a couple of weeks ago at MOKAN. We have had a lot of fun with this car over the last twelve years but it is no more. Hooley is fine and he is busy working on another gasser but not a Henry J. 14C91EB3-534E-4105-A2B4-B0EC68BE34E9_1_105_c.jpeg

My post and the pictures I posted of a friends Henry J was deleted for the following reason "Pro Street off topic". Almost every Henry J in this thread has Pro Street Tires because almost every Henry J is used for drag racing. I'm confused.
Can the person who deleted my post please explain. If all Henry J's in this thread with Pro Street tires were deleted there would only be one or two pictures of Henry J's. Thanks.

I said "pro street is off topic" Tubbed, narrowed rear ends and steam roller tires (also known as pro street) didn't happen until the late 1970's. we focus on 1965 and older build styles here

  17. I totally agree, every race car that's posted has a narrowed rear end and big tires, including front engine dragsters ! I've had several photos of race cars deleted but cars with efi have posts 30 pages long and guess what, they've got narrowed rears on top of the efi.
That car you posted has tons of history to it too, but that's not important that it's been a race car since the early 60's.

Thanks Swade. Like you said you know the history of Marks Henry J going back to the early sixties. Its interesting to see the way it has morphed into its current form. I recall seeing it in Marks shop for years. I posted its picture so others could see how nice it really is. Its got to be one of the finest Henry J's in the country.
What was the name that was painted on the car back in the early sixties? I know it was cool and have racked my brain but can't remember what it was.. Maybe someting Oriental or Chinese? Still can't get over how young Mark looked it those old pictures and almost didn't recognize him. I guess that goes for all of us with the exception of your avatar.

if you see posts with efi please report them so they can be deleted. as far as the pro mod and pro street look, if you notice the on topic henry J's in this thread have wide tires that stick out of radiused wheel openings. You can't convince me that tubbed cars with narrowed rear ends and steam roller tires are on topic here
