The historic Bill Peterson 1932 Ford roadster! Won Oakland roadster show in 1959. 1st Sweepstakes Winner Portland Roadster Show 1956. HotRod Magazine cover car September 1960. Featured in hotRod Magazine in September 1957. Featured in Car craft magazine June 1958. Owned by Bob Tindel who is known for “The Orange Crate”32’ Ford Sedan. Went through $150,000 nut and bolt no expense spared restoration. The car never changed through the decades! This is HUGE for me!!!
Bill Peterson managed the Portland Roadster Show for many years and the car would occasionally be on display. I'm sad that a great piece of Northwest history left town.
I can say it went to a great home! I’m currently trying to get it into Don Garlits Museum of Drag Racing
I think the asking price was very fair for this car and I am happy to see that it has gone to a good home. I knew Bill well and worked with him for several years on the Portland Roadster Show, he was a nice guy and a good friend. I think he would be happy to know that the car has a new caretaker that is working to have people enjoy it and to preserve it's history.
I appreciate that! I have been talking to Don Garlits lately I would like to put it in his museum at least for a couple of years. The car won’t get driven. My sole purpose is to keep the history of this wonderful hot rod alive!
The guy who restored it, (Dale Withers) on the right, was here yesterday. I am not one, to hire anyone to do anything but body/paint and upholstery for me. But, if I wanted a complete Hotrod built, it would be Dale that I would choose ! He is as good as they come.
