Hello, Thanks for showing that Nelson family movie. Most of So Cal was totally enthralled with the Ozzie Nelson family adventures. That was the symbol for most families to follow. Nice house, two kids, nice friends, family situations, and nice location were part of the whole aura of family life. In real life, the Nelsons were the quintessential So Cal family or for that matter, a typical family anywhere. It was nice that our mom loved the show and Ricky Nelson. She wanted her two sons to grow up just like them. Of course, our house and location was not in Beverly Hills or somewhere as shown, but the Westside of Long Beach. Her goal was for our family of 4 to be similar to that famous TV family of 4. So, she stressed that, "...We should always be good boys." When we watched the show weekly, it was fun seeing the hot rods in the programming. We did not know or assumed that Ricky Nelson and his brother built the roadster. Those were the times of innocence. We all equated family TV shows with real life situations. Jnaki Later on, after my wife and I moved to the OC, our favorite beach was just steps away from the Nelson Family compound in South Laguna Beach. Victoria Beach was a small, but beautiful beach hidden from the highway and masses of the public. On any given weekend, there were a handful of people using the beach for many things. You just had to adjust to the steep underwater slope immediately from the water line. It is a mini cove with just a short stroll down to the other end of the beach where the Nelson Family house was located on the cliffside in the Blue Lagoon compound. This location is just across the Highway 1 PCH from the current Ruby’s Auto Diner. But, back then, it was called Duke’s Family Restaurant, for a noted local dentist. The Nelson Family was legendary in Laguna Beach from those early 50’s days. https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum...oadster-for-auction.1721/page-2#post-12955020 Nelson story https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/friday-art-show-8-31-18.1120283/#post-12718007
