Projects I'm off to find my '30 Roadster in the Basement.

It took a full sheet of 400 to get the drivers side cleaned up, lot more factory paint there.

 

Next investment is a Steadfast kickup kit for the 1932 frame the body will sit on some day. This is a pile of LEGOS. Have to ask around and see were I can borrow a bare '32 frame for setup. I need the original front subrails grafted to the Steadfast kickups, and cross braces installed before the rear quarters and cowl get set in place.Meanwhile I'll keep cleaning & prepping things. Don't do this. Use the frame you will use the body on. Especially since an A body requires a re-formed 32 frame to fit. Really hard to make sure your final frame is the same shape as the borrowed frame.

 

Thanks, I was wondering about that. Sounds like you have some been there, done that experience.

Relax... if you run wooden blocks between the steadfast and frame you will have lots of forgiveness.

No photos, but I have spent time yesterday and today on the rear quarters. Cut the factory spot welds and removed the rear corner brackets.

 

Quarters are now cleaned of any bolts, screws or rivet remains, noticed the rear brackets were the rumble lid hinge attaches are missing, I'll be running a trunk lid so don't know if they need to go back in. Happy Father's Day!

Hey Bob, nice looking dog you got there, tell me about him/her.

 

Hank is a rescue puppy we got back on May 17 the Corona deal has screwed up dog rescues as well as everything else. Papers say he is an English Bull Dog, Dachshund mix, I think they were drinking when they came up with that ID. He's 15 pounds now, lots of fun, Grandkids love him. Got one side of the 35/36 bones shackle bushing out.

 

Bella says Hi to Hank. Bring him up sometimes, they can run! They grow fast!

those triangular gussets go in both rumble and trunk... just remove the tophat shaped bracket that the hinge pivots through to convert... they are year specific …

henry should have made a short piece of trunk gutter to bolt / rivet in for the bodies that don't have rumbles...

lots of guys would like to keep the water in a channel rather than just splash onto the floor...

Yes, found out a while ago that my reading glasses have plastic lenses. No body work tonight.

bob, were you a hockey player, seems I have seen broken frames like that... along with a broken nose...

 

No, learned to skate with figure skates, hockey skates got a five minute test 50 years ago at a rink that was out of my size figure skates. Impossible sport to watch.

 

Hope Hank doesn't develop an interest in power cords. JW

 

I hope one isn’t being held back from feeling out body panels for a lack of spectacles at this point in the Roadster timeline?

Hank is 26 pounds now, and I've decided I need to buy some '32 frame rails. Can't make any real progress without them. Talked with JW Rod Shop, and I need to find $800.00 to cover them and shipping. A few days ago in a shop clean up I moved enough stuff to get to a file cabinet. Found Aunt Helen's stamp collection, wonder if there is $800.00 worth of stamps in it?
