Several years ago this roadster started my buddy and myself on the journey to build our own Bonneville roadster and go out to the “great white dyno” and enjoy the fun and beauty of the salt flats. Thanks for the inspiration

My partner and I had won NHRA,IHRA and USAC events and then one day his doctors told him that he had cancer and his odds were around 25%. After two years and two bouts of chemo and radiation treatments things started to look up. I bought him a calendar that year for Christmas with different forms of Motorsports. One of the months had a picture of your roadster on the salt and I wrote a note to him that we were going to go bonnieville and race one day. Well he got better and the next year we started building that orange 32 roadster and the first year we took our roadster to bonnieville and got into line to make our first pass your roadster was in the other lane. That calendar and a picture of us standing next to your roadster is hanging in our shop along with that note to him to get well and we’d go racing again. You never know when or how you can help someone thru tough times. Thanks

Inspirational story! It's things like this that make me love our sport/hobby. Bonneville is a great place, brings people together.

 

Until you’ve seen the sunrise on the flats you don’t know what a beautiful place it is!! Love your roadster plus it’s a flathead

 

Touching story, John. I had to have my wife read your post. It means a lot. Not quite sure what to say, other than thank you for sharing. Also I agree, no better place to watch a sunrise.
