Jon, may go to this year's event. Haven't got a team to work for yet.
LOL the stories I can tell about working Timing & Scoring for Big Bend Bash SCCA Pro-Rally forty years ago.
Like driving a rental Pontiac Grand Prix out of Midland airport headed for event headquarters in Alpine and tucked up tight behind Gene Henderson's factory Jeep 18-wheel carrier running around a hundred when Carroll Shelby buzzed us in his private jet. Thought a car had come off the carrier and backed out of the throttle in time to see Shelby's plane disappear into the Glass Mountains.
And eating chili and beer with Shelby in a run-down warehouse in Alpine TX where he cooked a huge pot of chili for the workers.
This was around the time of the Chili Wars between Shelby and Wick Fowler. Those guys could cook.
... And Terlingua Ranch/Arriba Terlingua an opposite sides of the highway - West Texas girls after midnight...
    Fun days.

Loud, I recognize John Wyer in suit jacket second from left and Phil Remington sitting in the Cobra. Is that Dennis Hulme on Wyer's left? Who are the two drivers far right? 1965 somewhere in Europe? Tineye gets a couple hits but nothing productive.

Guy on Weyer's left may be Innes Ireland

Speed, could be Innes Ireland. My memories of Mr. Ireland were him driving a Ferrari 250 GTO that belonged to Tom O'Connor of Rosebud, TX, chassis #3589GT prior to the car becoming "The Forgotten One".
Sebring 1963 iirc. (Nearly identical Ferrari GTO #24 was John Mecom's car with Penske up.)

Same car, same driver fifty years later. Car sold for $70,000,000 at auction.

Jonneville, watching action from today at Nurburgring and the yellow TVR at 2:28 (and 9:53, 15:20 and 20:29 transiting Adenauer Forst near the 7km mark) and immediately thought of you.

And yes, there is a red factory MGB/GT V8 that has the BOP Buick V8 as stock.

Isn't the guy leaning on the rear fender with goggles around his neck Phil Hill?

Could be Phil Hill. Here's a pic of Gurney, Clark, Surtees and Hill from the same time. Hill liked goggles - sometimes two pairs at once.

On the visual front--Me too--Google is your friend ;) Gamble actually drove in a Formula One race (the 1960 Italian GP) but is better known as one of the(approximately 2 dozen) drivers for his and Lucky Casner's Camoradi team (see the recent post in the Corvette hot rods thread) although as one of the founders of the team he did see considerably more seat time than most of the others which included a lot of big name drivers of the era including Shelby, Gurney Moss, Ward, Rathman, Daigh, Bonnier etc.

Roo, a Formula 1 driver, and I thought he was just another Goodyear employee judging by the old uniform he is wearing.

ETA: After searching, it appears Fred Gamble finished last at Monza in 1960 while Phil Hill won the event on his way to the World Championship that year. No wonder they are standing on opposite ends of the lineup.

Another aside, the car Fred Gamble drove at Monza. Was it a Porsche Formula 2 car? Open-wheel Porsches I just don't know. I worked for a guy that owned a 1959 Porsche 718 RSK Spyder (chassis #007 ex-von Tripps, Bonnier and Magioli) and maybe the car is based on that platform? That car is currently in the Miles Collier Collection/Revs Institute in Florida.

Thanks for that video. The Alfa Romeo GT Junior spin made me miss my Alfisto cousin Johann, who died last year, because he had his GT Junior about the same time I had my BMW 2002ti, though we weren't living in the same city then. Johann was a huge guy, 6'3" and 350lbs, but he always liked tiny cars. He had a few Minis in addition to his string of Alfa Romeos. That little white Alfasud especially reminded me of Johann, because he had a wholly counterintuitive, quite terrifying, but very effective way of getting an Alfasud around a corner.

This photo is from Australia but I don't know where as the licence plate in unreadable. The body on the sports car may be either a Buchannan or a Milano, both of which were sold for fitment to whatever chassis you could come up with (generally something from a Triumph or MG etc). The key to it being an Aussie shot is the Valiant as by that era the Australian built Valiants had a different rear window configuration than the US version.

After a bit of research I am fairly certain the the body started life as a JWF Milano as this is one of the best known Milano bodied cars in Australia. Obviously the one in the photo posted by loudbang does not have the 1930's vintage MG chassis and running gear that is under this version. The Buchanan is very similar but had cut away front fenders and did not have the headrest fairing.
