This is not a thread about how many people you can fit in your Hot Rod but, after reading a post about a guy bringing home rusted out Model A parts.
https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/nastiest-model-a-part-ever-dragged-home.1191713/ I got too thinking about how some of you guys will save anything, and all of the projects I've seen on here built with bodies that should've been just left out in the woods to rot in piece. So now I'm wondering how many bodies did you use to weld together the body of your Hot Rod?

Depending on the size, the trunk in my 64 will hold 3 maybe more I'd bet...

When I saw your post, I thought of my friend Wayne Miller, in about 1953. 2012-10-11 100323.jpg

My 1st '34 was a bit of a puzzle. Only the shadow knows how many different cars came together to form one.

    Ended up OK.

  11. We often hear Jim Sibley's name as being the guy that has the ability to build nice cars with what most would ignore but you my friend also have the ability to make chicken salad out of chicken sh!t. HRP

I also was wondering how many bodies @JimSibley used to build his Willys.

I am lucky , I guess. The ‘27 T is one body and the ‘48 F1 is all original body parts. I should clarify that the ‘27 frame , subframe and floor panels are all new metal but the body is all ol’ Henry metal .

  15. at least 8 plus all patch panels and subrails.

Cad-Lasalle holds the local record

Been collecting pieces for this one for a few years now, ive got the following pieces from different cars
    1 early 28 roadster cowl
    1 gas tank from a 28 rpu
    3 doors, 1 touring, 1 28 rpu and 1 29 rpu
    5 1/4 panels
    1 panel below decklid
    2 decklids
    brookville subrails and floor

The only piece I'm still missing is the panel above the decklid...oh and lots of patch panels, and many hours of labour! 036.jpg 098.JPG 116.JPG 068.jpg 126.jpg

All you Ford guys are spoiled!
When you work on a Mopar, you only get 1 body and have to make everything that is missing! We usually don't have the luxury of being able to find more then one body.

Yeah, I lucked out too. As far as I know, mine is still wearing it’s original sheet metal, albeit with a few patches, mostly in the floor.

  27. Original body & both doors
Hood from my pal Floyd, had a scoop bolted to it but I've cut it out past that.
Spare uncut hood from a 2 door wagon I parted out.
    Trunk lid from another dude.
    Floors & rockers replaced.
New fenders. The original fronts were cut up and used to radius the rear quarters.
Side trim collected from 4 different '57 parts cars. Polished the best pieces to use on my car.
Dash cut out and replaced with a perfect one from a donor car.
