Can you drill into the back of the sealed beam and install an LED light in it? I don't know how to drill into glass but glass companies can do it .

  4. You can get a bit for your dremel that will drill a hole in it.
That was my thought, put a LED in it
    That would be cool

Thought about it. Actually I was thinking I’d have to cut the back off at least to get the filament and all out. But a small hole would be more do-able. I really do want to see it lit up. Do you suppose the bit I’d need is diamond tipped?

Might try. I want to see it lit

  12. I think it was garnet. I think dremel still lists bits and uses on the internet. I used to drill holes in Jack Daniel's bottles with it. Practice on an old light to get the hang of it
I bought some LEDs to redo the lights in my 64 C10 dash and bought some on amazon not much bigger than a pencil eraser.
It would look good lit up

You can buy a spade style glass and tile bit for under 10$. They're usually good for at least a few holes before they wear out.

Texas plates. Some old bolts. Drank some Lonestar beer. Here's the result. I call it the "Lonestar."

I have quite a few Model A grill shells. I restored this '31 shell and framed a photo of my Model A. (Shadow box style) It's hanging in my office.

Excuse the glare off the glass.

Here is a lamp I made from a swap meet carb. Base is oak plywood leftover.

  23. It looks like this may be the place to ask. I have about 5 feet of wooden waterpipe that has been in the ground for 100 years and have no idea what to make out of it. It is in very good shape for it's age. About 8" dia and has steel wire wrapped around it. All I can think of is a floor lamp but the wife does not like that idea, any others?

  25. 20200526_133135.jpg 20200526_133146.jpg Found a 1 foot long section, but it is just 7 strips of wood joined around to make a pipe and has wire wrapped around it to hold it together.

How about a Tiki? Can either carve part of it, or weld stuff to the wire cage.

  27. That's a good idea for the short pieces but for the 5 foot long one? guess so....

  28. Helped build this sign for Sid Drapal to hang inside his shop. B-Scott had done some t-shirt artwork for Sid with the skull and axle in its mouth. Then, Sid found a skull that was used in Pirates of the Caribbean as a prop while out at Pomona swap meet. So...he needed some arms and “Nostalgia Sid’s” to tie it all together. I decided drawing skeleton hands in CAD to cut it out on the waterjet was not as easy as it looked. :D Turned out pretty cool though.

Not sure if this qualifies, but it’s a bit artsy and it is in my garage. I used some old push rods for storing the dies.
