    bit the bullet
chopped the perfectly good bottom off the shell
locate the radiator, hang the abbreviated shell over it
and roll it outside for a walk around..
headers will definitely help pull it together..

And chopped a grill to fit the shell,
Moved the lower cross bar up to catch the cut ends and raised the top bar so as to not crowd the lower bar.
It will need a bit more trimming and add a piece of round to close the bottom off.

The shell looks perfect on the car...that's what matters.

    Thanks,
I don't know what they came out of originally, they are a bit new for the build style but maybe they can be reworked to fit what I have in mind.

    In front of what?
I know it's been far too long since I've been to the barber but hairpins? It's damn near long enough for a pony tail for christ sake

  17. We're all getting pretty shaggy for sure, I'm thinking something similar to what you have locating the rear.

    Straight top.

'got way too much time and money invested in this setup, it's very similar to the Kookie Kar's four bar setup and exactly what I had in mind.
Of course you know that from reading this thread ;)

Your roadster is worried about it's competition.

Curious to see how the pecking order plays out,
the old gal did get a little attention yesterday, drove around long enough to blow the dust off anyway.

Sold it to a guy in Las Vegas who sold it to a collector in Ohio, last I heard.
    That was a fun car

    Love that T.
If you don't mind my asking, how tall are you? Your T's are always so proportionally correct and if I were ever to attempt assembling my pile of odds and ends I would basically be using your cars as my inspiration but at 6'3" it's sort of a worry if I'd fit or not haha.

    I'm 5'-10"
current car is almost 7" longer than regular roadster
T's are small no matter who is in them.

Kind of a lateral move today
Early on I chose to not use the original back section and use another I had in the parts pile.
Reason was it had less rust through and one or two fewer dents.
But it had zero paint on it and minor pitting top to bottom.
The original needs the bottom six inches replaced and a few dents that will need to be worked out.
But from that six inches up is nice and solid, shiny metal under ancient paint.
I took all the panels apart and wiped them down with lacquer thinner and pop riveted (poor man's clecos) the old section back in place.
The whole thing is about ready to be blown apart and the frame put back on the frame table for welding.

This is what it looks like tonight.

Holy smoke Paul, I haven't checked in in a while and it's done! First time I've ever seen someone make a stock style thermostat housing, very cool. I particularly like the Olds steering wheel on the modified Ford steering box and the use of the good old aftermarket light stands. Those seats won't look out of place with new skins on them. The car just looks great!
