Hi! I am a guy from north of SWEDEN and i has built a Dodge Coronet Gasser. Is there any interest her too see my project build. You can see what i started with
I started with a emty car. No motor and tansmissin no rear end missing front suspension and a very bad interrior. But it was a two door post = Gasser. I cut off the front end and built a new frame. Made brackets for a straight axel from Ford F100 -58. Engine brackets for chevy csb and a modified firewall.
Glad to see your Dodge. I don't see a whole lot of modified Mopars, especially early 50s. Maybe my 53 Chrysler 2d ht can be a hot rod, too. That is, if I can be as diligent as you've been. Nice job!
Welcome to the H.A.M.B. great car ya got there. I like it. Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Engine is a Chevy 350 and gearbox Muncie M21, And yes the Engine is painted Gold flake. The first mockup with running engine. Headers is made by me.
@Lennart&Marie I have to be honest with you, I read your thread title yesterday and I thought, Oh, no! Not another bad “gasser” thread. I could not have been more wrong, when I looked at the pictures today you have saved a tired old stocker and built a real Gas Class worthy car. It rivals any Tri-Chevy that I normally associate with a gasser that is not a Willys or Anglia. Well played, a beautiful car.
After the first mockup i removed evrything and start the paint job. Doors, fenders, trunk mm d.ipped in the acid bath.
You have done lots of nice work, but I can't say im a fan of the sbc in a mopar. At least you didn't use a LS1.
Love the Mopar! I have a ‘53 Coronet Diplomat (2dr hardtop) .....very ‘shoebox’ like. Very nice job you have done. Thanks for sharing! Ray p.s. info on the split window VW would be welcome....but off topic here. A private message would solve that.
When all dents and damage was fixed on the body its' time for painting. All paintjob was in my garage by my self. Started with black base, Then i Flaked the roof Deep gren. The color of the rest of body is Green/Gold cameleont candy on the black base.
First time in daylight after paiting. And i became very satisfied with the result. Now is some details left.
Now final assembly Begins, Trim, Brakes. Exhaust manufactured. A freind helpt me widh the Graphics. All done with brush. Now final assembly Begins, Trim, Brakes. Exhaust manufactured. A freind helpt me widh the Graphics. All done with brush.
The car come without Engine and tranny. So i did like they did in the late fifties take what you have and build what you can. The most of the parts is the kind that was in the hides. All the missing parts was used to a Rod build, Ford cupe'-30
