Awesome project, Steve. Thanks for posting so many details & photos. You’ve been a real inspiration. I should be getting my coupe body before too long. I’m enjoying your pickup story too. Glad the infusion went well; keep the faith!

The devil is in the details. Worked on the hood gaps off and on for a couple days. Think they are as good as they are going to get.

Finished the body work and paint on my “command center”. Turn signal switches and a couple power ports. Everything is finally hooked up and working.

Pulled the driveshaft and replaced the tail housing seal. Hopefully that stops one tranny leak.

My tranny guy had a bit of a workplace accident. Almost lost his index finger. Stitches, steri strips and a splint along with pain meds have kept him from coming to fix the shifter selector shaft issue. We’ve talked and I’m first on his list when he’s back functioning. Hopefully just a few more days and he’ll be driving again.

Also been cleaning and painting parts for the unibody engine build. Created a stainless dipstick tube that cleared the motor mount, headers and everything else. Found an old aftermarket tube with a hold down clamp that will work. An old 351W stick looks like it will work. Might need remarked but that’s not a big deal. Using a 4x4 pan and didn’t have a tube or dipstick. Came out decent.

Hopefully my broken transmission dude will show up this week and we can start putting miles on this thing!

We’re basically calling it done. Drove it almost 100 miles this morning and nothing fell off! Still a few small tweaks and adjustments to do but it’s drivable and cruises great. Left the rear hubcaps off for now since we're pulling the wheels again and bleeding/adjusting the brakes one last time. Very happy with the way things turned out.

Thanks for following along, answering all my stupid questions and humoring me the last couple years. On to getting the '62 unibody drivable!

This was one sanitary build...Well thought out, well executed.
I built a '32 Five window highboy in 1957-59, gennie car, fresh maroon paint...but I stripped it and repainted it red. 304" flathead, car was not chopped.
Fewer 'appointments' than yours, it tickled me to see you with the Revell '32s.
A former ex wife burned all my pics, (ALL!) in '64, so I built the Revell '32 to my specs back then...
Lovely car, great colors. Enjoy, and take care. Thanks for a GREAT picture journey! Just like I was there...

Excellent build - beautiful car. Thanks for sharing all along the way; you've provided an online seminar that I'll be referring to while building mine. I hope you put a lot of miles on it soon!

It's a 1990 5.0 roller motor out of a Lincoln. Was rebuilt by a reputable shop then sat covered up in the corner of the guys shop for a year. I swapped in a new E-303 cam, intake, oil pan, pickup, timing set, roller rockers, Pertronix II, etc.
