    from Sparks, NV

Between 1949 and 1954, Chevrolet offered only four door wagons. I wondered what a two door might have looked like as maybe a pre-Nomad style BelAir Sportwagon.

The original concept drawings were done in 2003 and were published in a Custom Rodder Magazine “Stylines” feature, July 2004 issue. I recently updated the art to be more H.A.M.B. friendly.

And in honor of the "CARS" hot rod above, my old sketch from around 2006-'07.
I was storyboarding on "The Simpsons" movie at the time.

    "Rodger" ( "ROD" for short...)

    Hello,

Just finished this version of a cool looking Competition Coupe and its cohort push truck. In his 1959 to 1960 version, Jerry Card had a mean looking, but sleek Competition Coupe at various So Cal dragstrips. (Altered Coupes: driver sits in front of the rear axle...Competition Coupe, the choice was open) (Most sat on or behind the axle, like a front motor FED, but with a small body of sorts)

The need for speed utilized full body streamlining which included rear wheel coverings. But, despite the multiple louvers on each wheel, the smoke from the tires was a bother.

A year or so, later, the longer chassis (like other racers found out, too...) was helpful in stability and better runs. Even the full size wheel well skirts were removed for faster exit of any smoke from the tires during the runs. Now, the Quicksilver Competition Coupe was longer, leaner and faster.

The new Quicksilver Coupe was similar to the old 1959-60 version, but much faster. So, there were times when the Competition Coupe went against the Top Fuel and Top Eliminator brackets. A modified coupe versus a top fuel FED?

    1964-65 version

  26. Bob, that is too cool. I can remember going to diners similar to that as a kid and in the 60s when traveling. They were cool and most had really good food.
