    NICE
It looks like chain drive? If not it would still be a cool feature to keep the "chain drive".

That's just a tow chain keeping the truck in place. Conventional rear end (huge). I'm keeping the original drive train, was able to find new sleeves/pistons, valves, etc. for a complete rebuild. An early International six, 'valve in head' FAB-3 motor.

I love those old International rear ends with the square axle tubes. They are beefy monsters

    Hello,

This Chevy truck was pretty neat as it is shown rolling into the local Cars and Coffee. It brought back memories of my first attempt at taking photos for publication. I met the owner of another similar Chevy truck at a car show and took a lot of photos the way I like taking photos. No tricks, a lot of angles, low and wide, color slides, B&W, etc.

But, as nice as the old Chevy truck was with its Tahitian Red color and cool modifications, the Rod and Custom editors as well as the Hot Rod editors declined, saying, it was not a hot rod or did not fit with the rest of the magazine, etc.

Despite the fact that the photos were crystal clear and had the requisite angles it was not accepted. Even the well written story, edited by my English Major wife, of the custom build and some photos from the builder/owner did nothing to sway those, now gone, picky editors. I chalked it up to the “times” and picky editors always showing roadsters and coupes. Very few trucks, unless they were almost full customs, were picked. I thought this Chevy truck was what most people would build with their skills and money available.

Lesson learned and I never submitted another feature to Rod and Custom again. Little exploration/discovery photos from barn hunting, but nothing like a full, hot rod, custom car, or truck photo story. Those were the early years of photo journalism. After telling the owner of the disappointment, I gave him all of the photos and color slides that I took.

I had even made some custom prints and raw, redwood style photo frames of his truck, to put up on his office wall. He was the recipient of all of that photo stuff because of not being accepted into the magazine. (from me) Blame it on the picky editors and their odd choices for not having a wider spread choices for different hot rods and trucks, instead of just what seemed like nothing but, roadsters and sedans.

Your story closely parallels mine. I submitted an article about "Statistical Analysis of Starting Line Reaction Times" to National Dragster, the mouthpiece of the National Hot Rod Association. They rejected it as "being too technical for our reading audience". WTF? Its a drag racing publication.

Years later I submitted the same article to Drag News. They published it - along with the rejection letter I got from NHRA.
I had the last laugh LOL.

Can someone tell me what year Ford truck this is. I always loved 39 deluxe and 40 standard Ford front ends. I think this is a 41 Ford truck but I don't know Fords at all. In any case it is a commercial for a phone co. I just really dig the truck it is so well done I would drive it all the time.

The Ford in the video is a '41. The tell is the hood trim which is wider than the '40 trim. Otherwise the trucks are almost the same although the tailgate is stamped a bit different too.
