I'm on day 3 (part time) of tool pickup/gathering, trying to get the small shop organized...hey I can walk through it now. 3 laundry buckets of wrenches/sockets/etc, Going to have to look for another tool chest, no room in the other ones.

Son bought a shroud kit from Summit circle track catalog. Turned it 90• and it fit a 40 Chevrolet radiator. Cut to fit the 15” fan which clears the damper. Will be black when done.
Total plan is in on the linkage. Progressive on the carbs and cable will be vertical on a mount used on Ford FE multi carb set up. Waiting for a Lokar cable end. A76C32DA-4870-49B9-86C9-223A598551E9.jpeg C3EE6381-C26E-4856-81AF-41CA236BB6CE.jpeg

  5. I cleaned my shop, I swept, put tools away, took the air hose and blew the ceiling walls and floor, took a towel and wiped the walls and lights down. Now I'm ready to pull the next victim in and start. Its miller time!

If I did that, all that would remain is a trip to the steel recycling drop off because I would soon realize that there's no way I'd ever get it back together. If I did, doors lining up..forgetaboutit.

I'm glad there are folks like you that can accomplish such a huge task!

A couple of friends did a drive by for our good friend who just got out of the Hospital after a month with covid-19. He is a LAPD detective working the covid test lines here in LA and got it. Lucky guy to be still on this green earth

Fabricated a tag mount and my dad said I needed a tag light so a friend hooked me up and now I can't decide which tag to run. 20200419_161548.jpg 20200419_162750.jpg

  11. I’ve had Shovels and Iron Heads, and that’s always the trouble, When they run! When we got married, my wife rode on the p pad on my 1972 XLH with no complaints. Then I bought a 1982 Low Rider and rode that for several years. When I got my 1992 FLTC, I was astonished that I could ride all summer and not have to wrench on it. That was 2001 and that FLTC is still my main ride.

Moved all of my trailers and mowed under them and put everything back in different places to confuse the neighbors and any one who goes by regular. Got the tear drop trailer frame that the frame for my 48 sits on drug out from it's hiding place. Then it was beer and hot dog time around the Fire ring 0419201927.jpeg 0419201848.jpeg

  18. My brother and I took a little trip to a local ice cream store, which was closed. But we got the dust blown off!

Brought back the old engine to the shop. Was part of the deal. Nice if you have friends with the right tools.

Saw a nice Buick over there. IMG_20200420_113735.jpeg IMG_20200420_143548.jpeg

Hmmm. I have a couple of these. Maybe one for each side for parades! :D I made those tabs removable so when the top is off the car I can ride with my arm up on the door/quarter without smacking my elbow! Stole the idea from here.

  24. I have two of these. Good for mowing, not much else. The clutch is the weak link. If not already, You will become very familiar with Hamilton Bob in Ohio. Sells pretty much everything you will need. Requires more maintenance than my cars. Wait until you have to R&R the starter. Or the pto clutch.

  26. More ground work, mainly clean up. Pulled the bed off of a late model pickup to put bedsides on , and put the body back on the 39. Busy day but productive :D 20200420_182143.jpg

  27. We have the complete set now, 154,185, now 184. I know all about Hamilton Bob, bought lots of stuff from him! I had to overhaul the PTO clutch in the 185, it wasn’t too bad to work on, but the pieces are pricey. This 184 has an expensive electric PTO clutch that won’t get used. I have a small box blade for this one. You are right about the clutch itself, they are not very beefy.

I helped (ok, I watched) a tire guy replace a tube on the rear tire of my '65 John Deere 1020,

I never get tired of watching someone who knows what he is doing.
