Art & Inspiration can you I.D. this part?

  1. This is car-related. The coin is to cover the engraving, not for scale. Wazzit?

  3. Not perfect....... but very, very close. :p
It's made by Anco (Marked as "Made by the Anderson Company").

Pick any prize from the top shelf.

Edit: I checked online and I see that Trico purchased Anco a year ago, March of 2019. So you are getting closer to "perfect", a little off but close enough for government work. :p

I think it goes the side of a wood burning stove, opens and closes something, just don't recall what it opens and closes...lol

    Edit:

    Hey Joe.
It is a possession of mine, is it something that you are in need of ? This piece is extremely pitted, I bought it for 15.00 at a swap meet. Its really a piece of junk from my pile, if that tells you anything. To answer your question, sure its available, but in my opinion, its really not worthy to be put on a car that needs it.

Don't NEED it but thought it might make a cool ornament on a radiator shell.

See, we are of the same mindset. I have a bunch of cool old radiator grille shells as well. I wish I had two of them, I would have given you one for the price of shipping, but I think I will hold onto this one for now. But thank you for asking. Dennis.

Hey Joe. I just mocked this up to give you an idea of what it can look like, purely as inspiration. winged radiator shell (2).JPG wing rad 2 (2).JPG

Looks like a 28-29 Ford shell there. Held up by a firehose nozzle. I would think moving it forward so the wings are right over the shell and the tire forward would work too.

OK...I've got one. I was going to put it on my Dominique thread, but this is a cool place. Can anybody I.D. the center part of this grille? The Outside is cold rolled steel with a mesh insert. I don't have the center part and don't have a clue what it is. Clue...the car was built in 1962. 20191125_082152 (5).jpg

Looking closer at the round center part in relation to the width of the "bars". The center looks larger and the bars look thinner. Hmmm

No idea on width. I just ran with the Buick theme and put two and two together.

I've cut and trim a few cast trim pieces to make fit. Is it possible it's been make to look thinner by removing material from the backside?

Maybe it's time to move this to it's own thread now. We're in Hi Jack land now.
