Looking better and better.

 

Picked this sedan crossmember hump up today at DECATUR TEXAS SWAP MEET today.

 

SCORE! I just had to find one of those for my build too and it took a minute. It saves a lot of time not fabricating one or cutting on a sedan seat frame to get one of those.

(FYI anybody else hurting for one, Mac's/Ecklers has them on clearance as of this writing.)

 

I blasted and painted rear crossmember cover yesterday. Then started straightening tailgate.

 

This rpu is great!! Gave me inspiration for mine.

I been slacking for 3 weeks, back in garage now , got the rest of body mount wood in, I’m pretty sure the swap meet wood kit was not for a RPU , but I trimmed and made it fit.

 

Turned this 5$ swap meet 2 1/2” column drop into a 6” column drop.

I built this stabilizer that will be welded inside of where I cut the bottom of gas tank out.

 

Was harder to achieve than I thought it would be.

 

Brookville Roadster took a nice bite out of my ASS NATIONAL today! I ordered seat riser , door sill brackets, & door sills.

 

This morning I lowered grill shell another 3/4” to correct the cowl - hood side gap. And then welded up all the holes in windshield stanchions.

 

To cheap to pay for $110 brackets.

 

I’ve enjoyed following your thread. Please school me on the reason you taped a loop in the grinder cord where it exits the housing?

 

Lol, has a bad wire in it I guess, want work with out it.

That’s so cool! That’s the kind of stuff I do because I’m too cheap! Hey are those model a pick ups all riveted together? That sure makes it a lot easier to build parts and just grind off the heads! It looks like most of the support brackets for the bodies on those are all 90° angles and stuff too!
That’s the only thing I don’t like about my 33’. everything is stamped and spot welded and weird curves and stuff makes it harder to fabricate.

 

I suspected something of the sort. Thought possibly you had a way to prevent that from happening or something. Carry on!
