Looks like spark all the time as soon as you turn it on. Crank car and hit the switch, reverse to shut off. The instructions:
Had one (or similar) when I worked at a Mobil gas station in the mid '70's (back when gas stations actually serviced cars, not just sold gas, chips, and beer). We used it on no start road calls. IIRC it worked well but how it worked I have no clue. Sorry.
Take the black cover off the red box, flip it over, take some pictures, maybe we can figure out how it works. The instructions tell you how to use it. They don't tell you how it works. Those are two different topics.
Right, two different topics. I haven't bought it. Was just curious to know how it could run an engine without ignition timing, or if anyone had used one. If I do buy it, which is doubtful, I'll read up on how to use it.
Probably works like a model T ignition. It is an exciter type spark ignition. I made my flame thrower exhaust systems with this kind of set up. Engines will run but not really very good. It will get you home.
