  1. Went to the Feed store and Wal Mart yesterday. saw a few wearing mask. I wasn't wearing a Mask. Today two of the boys Chris & Deano are tearing up a plastic & particle board cabinet record player. Getting magnets and copper wires. They make a good deconstruction team. Later today I plan to get out the air impact tools and let them help me Watts boys 022.JPG take apart some junk engines.

  3. We never had helmets or roll bars or seat belts. But we had fun and road rash. One teen built a homemade Go cart that was scary fast. had a big two cycle chain saw engine. and for torque he used a big heavy flywheel on a jack shaft. His little brother was driving it and the flywheel came off & the ring gear buzzed over his head from back to front he had stitches. Happy little urchin liked remove his hat to show off his injury at recess.

Worked on the motorbike today after taking the C10 out on its first trip with its new engine. Runs like a .... new one.

Bike has charging issues, so I am renewing all the wiring between alternator and other charging components, to minimize the resistance. And renewing the rectifier and voltage stabilizer.
The stator seems to be in pretty good shape. IMG_20200418_213643.jpeg IMG_20200418_215844.jpeg

One of my Great Nephews turned 5 today. He loves anything Fireman related. I decided to finish up a custom lamp project I had started last winter. Got in the car, put my mask on, stayed outside and dropped the lamp off at his home. Just getting to see my Niece's Family and the big smile on the little guys face, made my day.

  8. Built a skid and got my dads bike up.

Safer keeping and frees up some floor space, at least while all the things in this place are in motion. Takes 5 mins to get down, deskid and put the skid back.

Started to replace the transmission tunnel cover with a nicer piece. I never liked the one the previous owner made so I hope mine will make me happy. I made a small indentation for the heel of my shoe. I still have the end to finish, I haven't figured out how to do that just yet. DSCN3486.JPG DSCN3485.JPG

Work, in the morning. Then a couple hours at the local junkyard, getting some pieces and parts. Then yard work.

Today looks like more of the same, without the junkyard.

I finally got around to firing up my OT Hot Rod for the first time since October. After giving it a bath I met up with friends and we cruised Coon Rapids Boulevard. It felt really good to do something "normal" again...

Is that the car that does the Fall Fling And Spring Fling cruises through Malibu and Mulholland during the Van Nuys shows? Beautiful car.

  28. I fought with my shovelhead as usual for the spring startup, only runs off what's sprayed in the carb and quickly runs the new battery down, I through in the towel 2 years ago fighting these persistent gremlins. I took it to friend's shop that specializes in old bikes and it kinda worked like normal except the battery drain thing, anyhow this year it's right at the point of starting to run on the gas in the tank when the new "on/off" rocker switch broke...so pissed, ready to stick a stick of dynamite in this cocksucker !
Then I worked on mocking up fuel lines and spacers on the Henry J and trying to decide if I want to run push lock hose or braided steel. I still need to figure out the gauge placement so I can get it laid out and hooked up, figure out where to drill the hole in the new firewall to pull the wires through.

  29. I’ll probably have something better!
And you’ll not have to worry about damn bike even again.
    You’ll have :
The Big hole in the ground,
    scared neighborhood,
    scrap and shrapnel
    I’ll bring All of it.
And the bike will be gone.
    What times good for you?

  30. Ha, I think I'm going to eliminate everything on the handlebars, go direct to starter from battery with a pushbutton on the starter https://www.jpcycles.com/product/381-946/twin-power-lever-action-starter-solenoid

And put an evo starter on it, get rid of as much of the goofy wiring running from this switch then to that switch then to that button as I can. I was looking at a low mileage 2008 Night Rod in flat black with gloss black stripes, menacing looking bike that would be a little faster than the troublehead, but I sure like my old bike when it's running.
