a few minutes here and there and pretty soon it starts to look like something

made some brackets to take the rear rod ends on the four link,
like the front brackets they were cut from 3/8" plate
1/4" plate washers were made and welded to them
to provide enough thickness for the rod ends
    welds cleaned up
and holes reamed with taper to take the rod ends,
    test fit

closing in on the front suspension, rear needs some more work, going to break a few tacks and reset the rear spring brackets and fab up a cross member and spring pad..
body needs to go back on temporarily to locate steering box and brakes.
the tentative pedal plan is to use an Ansen swing pedal setup turned backwards and under the floor..

and rolling it is a bit of a chore, the posi is in locked mode.. makes it tough to turn..
I will go through the other pumpkin before it gets swapped in..

Like the 4 bar set up, not generally a fan of 4 bars on a hotrod but this works well.

Kinda where it's headed with the pedal sitch..
Ansen style swing set placed backwards and under foot..
It would get pedals cut leaving lever and rod to master with new pedals fabbed

I can't guarantee, but I think the F-100 boxes from around 1960 had the tapered rod end hole and fit on the older sector too.

Thanks, I'll do a little more searching..

Here's a cropped image from above,
Again looking for a typical tie rod end style pitman arm with 1-1/4" sector pinch bolt hole to replace my ball style arm.

  24. F1 steering boxes had the shaft enter to the bottom side of the box. F100 had the shaft enter to the top side of the box. You have an F100 box.
53-56 had a ball style pitman arm. 57-60 had a tie rod style pitman arm.

    Good to know thanks
I'm having a hard time finding info on sector shaft diameter
Both my boxes have the larger 1-1/4" sector shaft
    F250 same years?

Have you decided what style header and exhaust you are going with yet?

Not exactly, I know what I like and I know what I don't like, so at least that's a start..
Something late '50s- early '60s style..

  28. F250 is the same box, yes. Except 59/60 4x4 which will be a longer(?) pitman arm and a different steering box flange and code. (If you come across one of these, I'll happily buy it off you).
    F100/250 trucks had a 3CC31 code steering box. F100/250 4x4 trucks had a 4CC39 steering box code.
57-60 F100/250 boxes will have a 1-1/4" sector shaft diameter as well.
F350 is a completely different box and I do not know if the sector shaft or pitman arm is a similar size.

hate to beat this one to death but
what would this smaller sector (1-1/8") from my junk pile go to?
