Long story shortened - picked up an untouched 31 coupe hot rod built in mid 1950's (and it's for sale, longer story ) with some things you probably haven't seen in a while. 1932 Model B motor running a 1937 Cadillac V8 322 distributor (every other hole), 1948 Jeep CJ2 generator, and a nicely made 3rd brake light from a 32 B hubcap and marker light. The 39 steering wheel and column are uncut, mounted right to frame and directly to steering !! Very responsive ! Like seeing the junkyard parts, make it work mentality. The guys who built this were in their teens with just county farm boy mechanical abilities. Think they did a nice job. Thought everyone might enjoy seeing this.
Those hood scripts say mid 70's / Mid 80's. At least that is when they were popular to stick on your cars. That A looks like it can be a killer little car with a bit of work.
A jaunty Jalopy, for sure! You forgot to mention the rear mudflap (s), probably had a racoon tail at one time. Looks like it could be a fun little ride.
3rd brake light? That sounds 80s/90s to me. I don't think anyone was thinking about a 3rd back in the 50s
How about that. I learned something new today. Thanks @OLDTINPUSHER for educating me. I love learning history and new stuff.
Wow, a lot of clever stuff going on that car! I have that exact same red glass light sitting on a back shelf that they mounted on the hub cap as a third brake light. Can’t say I would have thought of that.
