Art & Inspiration TRJ 83 arrived today

Mine came yesterday, Lots of good stuff in this one plus make sure you check inside the plain brown wrapper after you pull the magazine out.

Mine arrived in my P.O. Box today! I only scanned it briefly but it looks like a great edition.

 

If the Jeem illustrations don't give you future project ideas, nothing will. Another great issue!

 

Well, when it was printed in Hong Kong it used to be sent direct to the Oz distributors from Honkers & we in Oz used to get it up to a month before you guys in the States.........now the Oz distributors don't see their copies till at least a 6-8 weeks after the US subscribers.........yet it arrives somehow on the Oz newsstands 3-4 weeks before the Oz distributors...........so much for the improved system........lol..........better late than never I suppose......lol......andyd

 

Having the printing done in the US was and is the best.
Keeping the work and money at home will always be superior to supporting some business on the other side of the world.

Well, the USPS truck just now blew past my mailbox without even slowing down.

 

Arrived in Illinois today. Noel in Brisbane should have his before May?

Blueone .....then of course theres the improved system that Collectible Automobile introduced 18months ago......have been a subscriber for 30 yrs or more.......their "improved" delivery system instead of using the US Post Office to deliver the magazine promptly and in 2-3weeks from being sent from the States they now send bulk copies to London, yep, that one in England and rely on the Royal Mail to deliver them ..................only takes 3 months to get here now............lol........the publisher didn't see the humor in a US company relying on Mother England again............lol....still a magazine is better than no magazine.......I wait patiently..andyd.

 

Got mine today on Long Island.

 

Got mine today in the middle of nowhere Wisconsin. Got snow yesterday. Today was a much better day.

Went to Save On Foods to see if it was in and got chewed out by my wife for not staying home. Hope that the Rodder's Journal can weather the storm with all of the difficulties they are encountering.

 

My wife sent me this after the mail came today..

 

How many subscriptions do you have? Or, are you a "local" distributor?

Looks like you may have gotten other people copies...

 

I don’t know how bulk mail is handled but I have a suspicion this is either an issue with the new mailing house or the USPS being short staffed due to Coronavirus problems.

 

The multiple copies is what happened to me as reported above. There is no identification on that package except the mailing label on top visable through the cellophane.

 

Do the individual envelopes inside have labels on them?

 

I don't know how bulk mail works either but seems like a stupid way to ship especially during a time when the USPS may not have full staff. I can easily understand someone thinking that is a single package and just sending as is. If two memebers here have already had this happen it's obviously an issue. Looks like some people are going to be waiting a while for their magazine. I will probably see mine in June given how slow it normally is.

Just received mine and I hate to be a whiner but there may be an issue with the cardboard envelope used too.
The old, white one was more substantial and did not have the gaps in the flap end, they appear to be prone to tearing.

 

I got mine today, arrived in great shape and I'm diggin the "extra" content.
