I've been thinking of changing the dual Rochesters on my 283 to dual Holley 2300's. That looks good. Now I'm more inclined to do it. Solid linkage?

3 Rochesters with progressive linkage on a 283 Chevy. I originally had a single Holley 650. I switched because I love the looks and nostalgia of multiple carbs. Off the line the single four barrel was quicker, but there is noting like the feeling when you kick in the secondary carbs in on a six pack. Much better gas mileage with the six pack as long as you keep your foot out of it. The setup was was fairly straight forward and easy. I’ve been running them for the last 5 years and have not had any issues.

Dual Holley 94’s on a 8BA Ford Flathead. Synced carbs running tandem. Originally I ran a single 94. There is a noticeable increase in acceleration and top end power. These took some time for me to set up and after talking to some old school folks I learned how to set them up properly. Now they run well with no issues.

    Was there ever a 2x2 or 3x1, 3x2 for an LA318?

@Blues4U Thank's, Solid linkage with just the rear choke hooked up. Get's about 19-20 mpg depending on how much fun I'm having with it.[IMG]

Una-sic is your friend with 4x2s,but = more then 4x the pita of one carb. For running with lest amount pita,4bbl,or 2x4,but looking really good is 3x2,4x2 or 6x2s. Even 8x2 if big motor.
I run these 4x2 with all at one time link up. All home-made, log intake, fuel log,linkage.water.
I had 2x4 for a time in 1959,60s,but sold them off to $$$ offer I could not refuse ,an put a 4 bbl on,it did work well, however decided I wanted my 2x4 back and found out I could not afford to by them any more. I always loved 4x2s,but could not afford a intake,so made my own log type out of a cut up drive shaft. It is better then you can buy at the speed shop anyway, each port dose have driveder from center of log down to head ports.< the cast alum ones are open from head up=not as smooth/and even more so on a Ford Y,as the two pistons on right bank fire next to each other,so needs drived. Still driving same hot rod from 1959 to now. 001 (4).JPG

I'm surprised by the amount of inline sixes showing up here but I think that is very cool. Dare to be different! I'd like to see some engine build threads of some of these showing up here. Car build threads are great but I would be VERY interested in reading some detailed engine build threads.

Still a work in progress and just sort of mocked up, '47 Buick 320 straight 8, 4 Carter W1 574s single barrel carbs and a semi hidden fuel rail, going in my '37 Buick Century coupe

  14. All the HAMB friendly cars in the stable have multi carb setups.

My 33 Ford pickup is running dual quads. Its an old Edelbrock intake with newer 500 carbs. Runs really good as this the setup used when the truck was being drag raced every week back in the 90s.

My grandparents 55 Chevy Bel Air is running a fully polished and chromed 3x2's. Its a polished Offenhauser manifold with 3 chromed 2GC carbs topped with Nicson Engineering air cleaners. The motor is a 327 and the whole set up runs really good. I think it would run circles around the 33 based on butt dyno pulls on back roads.
    44391605_2649461365067601_3023397139452526592_o.jpg

Finally Miss Taboo is running 6x2's. Its also a polished Offenhauser manifold. The intakes are designed for a Stromberg carb, but my grandfather built a set of adapters to be able to run 2GC carbs. The motor runs pretty darn good, but as it mainly is fired up in and out of the trailer for shows, so hard to really say how good its street manners are.

  19. I run 4 Deuces (3 bolt 55 Ford carbs) on a Weiand intake. I run them because I like the look,Four
Deuces on a Dressed SMC doesn't get any better . They run great & I have had no trouble with
tuning.(Have not turned a screw on them since they were installed & tuned) They have no chokes, all running all the time,(no progressive linkage. I am using another set on my current
new build, a 33 Willys Coupe (pic will follow later). Here are pic of my 32 5 Window Engine:

Ok as long as we are looking at carb porn here is my contribution. I have this 3 deuce set up for the flathead but wanted to break the motor in before installing and setting up the 3 x 2s. I monkeyed around with a couple ways I was thinking of running them. For regular air filters I have 3 Grace air cleaners all done up in black that I plan to run on the street.
