I am interested to know if ANY '40 Ford brake booster MC conversion assemblies can be put into a stock '40 frame WITHOUT either having the body off, or having to cut the floor out and reweld it back in, or cut the frame to make it fit. I have a disc brake manual cylinder in now but want to go to power brakes. Please, name the exact product, part number, and source that works. We all have boxes full of parts that did not work so I want to avoid that! Wisconsin Micko thanks you
Have put many in 40's under the floor with no alterations. Booster and master-I'll look thru stuff for brand. Latest was a 39 Woody-fit well-works great
I used the TCI pedal assy with 7" dual diaphram booster and master cyl on last two. Fits frame fine. Also put a shield between mc and exhaust pipe. On some we cut off the pedal arm and welded on a stock 40 arm for a more vintage look as well.Speedway sells one as well but have never used one. On the TCI one and others you have to tap the hole for a stock pedal pad 1/4-18NPT
On the 40 coupe we did last summer we used a Pete&Jake's pedal assembly with a 7 inch dual booster and disc/drum MC. Had to tweak the pedal slightly to get it thru the stock hole. Pedal comes with the right bung for the stock pedal pad.
Have never used ECI--see the others I have used TCI and Weedetr as well. Cornhusker had good luck with Pete and Jakes as he mentioned on here.
