1 more pic, multi stage rocker rebuild, cut the cancer out, trying to keep some structural integrity, once the top is all back together the outter skin is coming off and ill be making a new one which should give me a chance to weld the bottoms of my repairs and paint the inside 20200406_172702.jpg

That is some major rust repair ! It reminds me of a build way back in the archives before EMS came along he was doing a '55 Ford project his sheet metal source was from used metal school lockers. It's great to see you doing a budget build and showing your fabrication skills I will be following this thread. You might get a few pointers from this video.

Bodywork and upholstery, you're multi-tasking away on this one. Keep posting, this is gonna be cool.

Nothing was ever gained without trying. Don't give up, you will never do better if you quit trying.

    Hey, don't lose faith!

First time, better than most of us, and at least you can say you did the seats yourself.

Looks like a project. I see you are in Oregon? I have some spare parts if you have trouble finding anything. Let me know and I can let you know what I have and am willing to let go. Good luck on your build.

if at first you dont succeed....get pissed off and stay up half the night redoing something that took you almost 8 hrs to begin with! I am thinking with strategic foam/cotton batting placement, i can make both of these work! 20200410_234358.jpg

Also, a heat gun can help with smoothing out some wrinkles, take your time.

progress report. pulled valve covers, 292 was crusty, pulled heads, cylinders have bad scoring....bought another 292, this one has tri power! was bolted to an automatic, not sure if the cranks are different, i hope not. started making my own mounts because the angle iron plasma torched mess done by someone in the past was making my skin crawl and making the motor mounts twist and bend, my mounts are stiched in, next going to pull the old y block and box and reinforce everything, clean it all up and stick the new engine in! last pic is the replacement engine in its old home, a 55 ford 20200821_145458.jpg 20200821_145527.jpg 20200821_145519.jpg IMG_01751(1).jpg
