Yanked the T5 out of the A to facilitate a clutch change. Going from a Hays 95-201 10.5" sprung hub ceramic to a McCleod RST Twin disc organic. Once I get the flywheel off (for surfacing) I can focus on the cam change.

Put a new seat base on the driver side on the Vicky...fixed the base hinge welded it up where it broke...it sits a lot better. It used to lean way back... driving from the back seat back. Also took the floor out while the seat was out and put a stiffer spring on the brake pedal...not picture worthy...

  10. I hooked up the car trailer and took it for a spin, I hardly use it since I haven't been racing, probably sitting for 10 months now, anyhow unflatspotting the tires and getting some grease on the bearings.
It still pulls great and is still a really quiet trailer, here's an old photo since everyone likes photos. 20160823_120911-1_zpsaegzqcqv.jpg

Man that is a great looking Henry J. I painted my heap white also thinking of it as a 'blank canvas' I could add to later. We'll see, I don't want to go near the paint gun for awhile..

    From the BillyBob Shop log

April 6th 2020 Applied a third and fourth layer of filler and sanded with 36 grit until I ran out and switched to 40 grit. Was pretty close at this point so it was sanded again with 80 grit, followed up by a final sanding with 180 grit.

Washed the cab top with fresh water, Masked areas not to be painted, and PRE paint prepped bare metal areas to give them a coat of Rustoleum primer. The primer spray bomb had a mis-behaving nozzle so there are drips, runs and sags to clean up.

The International Red Rustoleum farm equipment paint will be rolled on so surrounding areas where a roller doesn't work were spray-bombed. Beer of the day was Hamburg Brewing Company's OMS Oatmeal Milk Stout.

  23. Thursday did body work on frame, a buddy primed it. Paint fumes get to me. He primes I sand, he primes I sand, Paint on Saturday ( a variation of Folkstone gray) while I sanded on body. He primed doors and decklid so I'll sand when I go back to his shop. IMG_20200402_182455258.jpg IMG_20200404_190640621.jpg IMG_20200404_190624087.jpg IMG_20200402_182525190.jpg

Cut up old tee-shirts for polishing cloths. PITA but got a nice stack from shirts I'll never wear. I've got 6 of those flip to plastic storage containers full. Many new in the bags.

I broke my wrist about a month ago so with the stay at home order and being pretty much too bunged up to do much I have been tinkering in the garage with little stuff. Today I dug out a bunch of my little magazines to look through and decided to put some up for sale after I look them over again. As I was looking through the pages of Rod&Custom, Rod Builder&Customizer, Custom Rodder, Custom Cars and a few others it made me think back to the 50's when I would talk Mom or Dad out of a quarter for the new little magazine. It was just like visiting an old friend. I would check out the hot rods and customs in the magazines and then I would get ideas to change up grilles, tail lights hubcaps, wheels, paint jobs etc. on some of my models. Too bad the kids of today are not into models like the kids in the old days, I know it kept me out of a lot of trouble.

Nothing happening here on account of the virus plus my friend whose workshop I use is moving to another shop on the same premises and that will take some time. We're expected to start to move back into semi-normality after Easter and then we'll see.
