Your fuel inlets look like they are coming out the back , have you tried them on the intake to check interference with the fitting and the next carb?

I did, I have 90 deg. fittings and there’s good clearance. These are going on a J2 manifold and Im trying to get as close to factory as I can.

Interesting. If those carbs were on a Chevy 348 the float bowls would face forward. If so, the ‘front’ fuel inlet would be consistent with the 1958 models. They came out the side after that. Help me learn here - are yours installed correctly, or backwards?

The float bowls should be towards the front. Otherwise the fuel splashes away from the Jets when accelerating.

  8. Is that middle carb fuel inlet pointing downward? That would be a late 60s unit then.

I have the primary torn apart at the moment, I just threw that on the manifold for the pic.

Here’s a pic from my 57 Pontiac. It also has 90 degree fittings. It may help. IMG_3577.JPG

Pretty exciting when you start building the carbs. I get it. Keep us posted as you go.
