  8. Hey Wayne...The first hot rod I ever built way back in the day was a 39 Chev coupe. It had a straight axle and a Dodge Hemi with 4 Stromberg 97s...Brings back a lot of memories. Below are the original pics and here's my take on it moving ahead in time about 50 years:eek:

  9. Anyone want to throw some panel paint on my truck. I'm thinking white or silver base with blue (and other complimenting colors) panels. Added a couple of photos for inspiration. Thanks!

    @themoose

    Moose, I bet you wish you had the "39 back now!
    I've always wanted to build one into a Rally Car. Something different and not another cookie cutter hot rod.

    Like this one, Madfish? This a Fangio-style Chevy Coupe that won the Rally of the Incas in 2016.

    on the subject of roofs. 46-48 chevys are my favorite but I always thought they would look better with the shorter 1940 roof line. Can I see a 1940 roof on a 47 chevy, Thank you. 47-Chevy_Stylemaster_DV-07_HPA-07.jpg 1940_Chevy_Deluxe_Coupe_004.jpg

    Moose, nothing I would like better but being a college professor has tied me down now that the Virus is affecting us. But... one day!
    Hope you're doing well. You are kicking ass on the Photoshop thread. Cheers and stay safe!

    Thanks moose! Glad I got to see it. I imagined it for some time but it doesn't look as good as I thought it would. One more thing I would like to see before I give up on the idea of mashing these two cars together. Can I see the 1940 chevy body with the 1947 front hood and fenders? IDK if the running boards would be a problem but Thank you for your efforts.

    The 40/47 roof swap is better looking than I would have thought, but the rear of the roof has too much hump in it for the later, streamlined fenders. I think if you kept the length dimensions but shaped the rear of the roof and rear quarter window more like the original '47 design you'd have a real winner.

  21. Hey Moose.....I only have 1 photo of my old corvette and I carried it around in my wallet so many years it got damaged. Any way you can edit out the photo damage? TIA..Oh, and feel free to edit my grungy ass out of the photo.... 64vette1972.jpg

    aaahh !!!! thank you !!!

    when that truck was photographed, with the opening behind it, I wondered WHY the photographer did not move it down jus a little way one direction or other.,

    I think the same mag, had article about " how to take pictures of cars"

    I am so old I didn't even know what a satellite dish was at that time

  28. No Wayne I'm not familiar with the ass wipe filter but I did try to rotate the image 180º and used the red eye filter but the result looked like crap.

    Moose, it appears you used the wrong filter. The correct method would have been to use the brown eye filter.
    Without sounding cheeky, the damage is permanently done and I guess the old adage "once an ass, always an ass" applies. There's nothing that's going to wipe that ass away.
    sorry.
