Well let’s see, full time ICU nurse, full time student, full time dad, have farm animals, and when I bored during the day and I have a chance I’ll work on the Pontiac an at night I’m putting my 55 yr old kitchen back together! Wish me luck!

Those rubber Furnco's are great but be aware I have seen them chewed thru by rodents.

  6. “Working” from home, with a two year old not much time to be out in the shop during the day as my wife is still working. We do have a new guardian dog however so it’s a nice stress relief! 60666786056__586A25D7-83F4-4835-AD48-DC510885A7FE.JPG

Working to keep America rolling along. Just another day in the office, but the drive in was easy.

  9. I'm considered essential since I work for a defense contractor. Things internally are a little slow, people out and waiting for a few things to happen first. Less and less cars each day, rumored we are getting letters to have with us to prove we are essential workers.

One thing good, they have cranked the heat down inside, much more comfortable to work in. I worked outside for 10 years on cars and towing, also construction as a kid, I could never get used to coming inside to work. I have a good resistance to cold weather.

If they are taking furlough volunteers, I am all over that. I retire on April 30th and it would be groovy to take unemployment into retirement.

Am pooped. Good weather finally today.
Spent the day edging the city block size garden in my village.
There are about 30 beds separated by pathways that needed edged with a trencher. Dragging that monster around all day really wore me out.

I think I have enough parts to build a girl robot in my garage. I was thinking of making recordings of what I want it to say then I realized that it might be creepy hearing my own voice telling me what I want to hear...

At 72, like so many of our members with some prior health issues. Trying to and hoping to dodge this Caronna bullet. Have not been in garage for 2 weeks. When installing front sheet metal, had to drill a hole. Drill bit hung up flipped drill around and mashed right hand. Swelled twice its size, hurt like hell, but it’s getting better. Feeling like some garage time now,

Well besides cleaning the shops and shredding old papers I have been working on the redwood pens from redwood wine casks from the Taylor Winery in Hammondsport NY. The barrel was 16' long and about 12' in diameter. I scored about 8 staves in 1997 and made a picnic table and now these pens. This is the first one and it was not without issue, the nub at the bottom of the pen did not press in, it went in by hand so I glued the sob in. It is coming along, I now need to work on the barrel and cradle, polishing and sanding.
    Keep your distance.

I inherited my father's hardware collection about 35 years ago, finally got down to going through it and separating the Phillips, Standard and our favourite Robertson's. Heater is on, his old anvil keeping me company, a fresh Moosehead not far away. MVIMG_20200325_145136.jpg MVIMG_20200325_145256.jpg MVIMG_20200325_161459.jpg s.

We working too, even if a "shelter in place" comes to order, we are supposed to work. My company will let us off, but my company supports Amazon, 90% of the stuff coming through our place is household goods right now. Not the cheap assed Chinese trinkets we used to see. I have to keep doing my part (in a very small way compared to all the Frontline folks) to make sure the conveyors stay running so all will get the needed supplies that we don't want to venture out for.

    Tip your delivery guy/gal...

Looks like I get to keep working at the plant. Shelter in place order starts today...30 days. I drew an essential straw though. I'll just keep working in the shop on my evenings and weekends.

I'm actually grateful to be working, and send well wishes to all those who are losing their jobs.
