Hi, finally I have took the time to post some pictures on my Mercury. I am a car loving girl who lives in north Sweden with my husband and two kids. We build cars (kustoms, hotrods) at our spare time. I thoght I should start by showing my 1954 Mercury that we built 2015. Do you want to see some more pictures when we built the car? /Sanna
Welcome to the Hamb @Sanna&Simon...That is quite graceful and gorgeous...bring on the pics and story and choose Full Image rather than Thumbnail as it deserves the BIG picture status...
When we bought the car it was on a boat on its way to Sweden. This is how it looked when it arrived. We fixed the swedish registration then we started to work on the car immediately. When we was pleased with the chop we welded the roof back.
We realized quickly if we wanted a nice line on the rear window we had to move everything forward. As you can se int the pictures we choped and moved everything in the back forward, even the trunk was modified. We made a window template in glasfibre and sent to Finland to get the front and rear windows done.
In the front is stripped of some chrome and built a own scoop. Its frenched -53 caddilac headlight. The rear fenders is also modified. (Made them go all the way down) The taillights was cut off the whiteglas and lower down on the car. We have also rounded the corner on the doors, hood, trunk. And stripped of doorhandels and some chrome.
Then it was time fore some paint! The car is toned in bluegreen color. Its hard to get it on a picture. We did the painting by ourself to. We still have the original interior, so thats why we painted it in a color near the original. Simon have also done some pinstriping on the car. The first wash after the assembly! Its a great car who runs smooth and the whole family can go for a ride! That red hot rod model A is also a car we have built. Maybe I must do a thread on that too? /Sanna
Great job! I was just looking at a stone stock one on FB market place this morning. The availability of having a new windshield made makes chopping one of theses less daunting Well done on all the body modifications as well. Torchie
Your 54 Merc custom is a beautiful work of art. A truly well thought out design clean and sleek. You did everything, just right. CONGRATULATIONS.
Great job. It is so pleasing to see a car out of the ordinary crop of customs, and done so well also.

Thanks! We have been a couple in 12 years, under that time we have built a few cars and motorcyckles. At the moment we are building a 1940 Merc! Maybe I have to show you the other builds/renovations we done.
Very tasteful changes and excellent workmanship, it’s just beautiful. Love the color scheme. Welcome to the H.A.M.B. and by all means do post more pictures of your projects! Sent from my iPad using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
