Almost done after 5 years. Glass and upholstery left. Body off. Nice car. Car has a powder coated frame and suspension which includes full Jamco front tubular a-arms, 3" lowered springs and sway bar, power steering and brakes, 9 " ford rear end with 3" lowered springs, traction masters, heavy duty drive shaft, new gas tank, 355 Chevy with some internal mods, turbo 350 trans reworked, Lokar shifter, air conditioning (Heritage) with dual fans on aluminum 4" radiator,. 4 wheel disc brakes with ABS power system. Custom Basque Pearl paint with powder coated rims with stock caps, powder coated dash with after marker gauges and column, Antique original modified am/fm/xm radio. Car is basically a new updated 50 Ford. Yes the licese plates spell SHOEBOX. Real plates. Plus a million other details. Hope you guys like it. Thanks Irvan. I pieced together parts of an original 50 steering wheel with a custom wheel. touch of new and old joined together. Came out pretty cool.

That looks so well done that I would bet most people will think it came from the factory that way.

once you have it all done and end up driving thru a dip in the road with muddy water will that make you rush home to detail it all out again, or will it be sort of a right of passage and declare it a true driver?

It's a driver but I do plan on trying to maneuver around muddy puddles. Thanks.

Thanks guys. This is my seventh car built from the ground up and the last one considering I am 78 years old. Although it's great fun and rewarding at this stage the process requires lots of patience, stamina, money, time, did I say money, frustration, direction changes and every emotion that exists to get through these builds. Very satisfying if it turns out nice. Of course there will always be changes. That's what we do. Thanks again.

Beautiful car! What also struck me is your immaculate garage, epoxied floor, and organizational skills! You give me hope Sir.

  17. Beautiful car !! Mine won't be as pretty as yours, but come hell or high water it will be on the road mid April. I've got a fair bit left to do before then.

He may have the same motto as many of us here do, If it's worth doing, it's worth overdoing!

Pretty is not important but doing it right is. Time works itself out. I’m sure it will turn out to be a head turner.
